Tex's POV
I was excited to go horseback riding with Talli for her first time. Although, she seemed scared of my horse, Lightening Bolt, for some reason. She never told me why.
Once I was in the saddle, I pulled Talli up, and she sat behind me.
"Hold on," I said.
"What do I hold onto," she asked kind of loud in my ear.
I could not help but chuckle a little bit. I was going to have to get use to having a friend that is Hard of Hearing. I did not mind talking louder but I am definitely not use to it.
I looked over my shoulder, grabbed each her wrist with my hands, and wrapped them around my waist.
"You okay," I asked as I signed where she could see it.
She nodded her head up and down as her face flushed red.
I hope she wasn't uncomfortable holding on to me. I didn't really think this through. We can't really talk and ride at the same with her sitting behind me. Plus it was not too good for two people to be on one horse. But than again she is skinny so she doesn't weigh much. Then it clicked, we could go to this clearing in the woods and we could go talk there. Then Lightening Bolt could rest and graze while we talk. Okay, everything is working out now.
I clicked my toungue and my horse started walking slowly. I felt Talli's arms tighten a little bit as he started walking.
Once we got to the clearing, I helped Talli get down, and then I got down.
"This place is beautiful," she said as she signed.
"I amor coming here," I said.
She continued to look around so I guess she didn't really hear me. The clearing just so happened to be por a little stream. Talli went and looked at some different flores and the stream as I took the saddle off of the horse.
It was very peaceful. I loved coming here.
"What do you think," I asked as she turned around to face me.
"Really pretty," she signed, "did I tell you about last night?"
"Nope," I said.
"Dad found out about my hearing aides," she signed.
"So everything is okay? He let you keep them," I asked.
"I don't know; it's a tricky subject,"she said as she stopped signing, "he is definitely not okay with me having them. But I refuse to allow him to take him."
"Oh yeah," I said as I closed my eyes again, "maybe he won't take them."
"He better not," she signed, "Are you going to sleep?"
"Nah, just a short nap," I said.
"Oh okay," she said oddly.
I peaked out of my left eye and saw looking around.
"What is it," I asked.
"Why do you come here," she asked curiously.
"I come here to think or take a nice peaceful nap," I stated, "when I do get a nap in here, Lightening Bolt always wakes me up with water dripping on my face."
"That's really funny," Talli said laughing.
"It's his way of telling me it's time to go back home," I said.
"That's a smart horse," she said still laughing.
"I agree," I said.
"So what kind of work do you do back at the barn," she asked.
"I feed the cavalos and clean them, I clean their stalls, and then I work in then field,' I said, "oh, and whatever the boss tells me to do."
" Wow, that's a lot of work," she said.
"It's not bad at all. I really enjoy it," I stated.
"That's good," Talli replied.
"We are suppose to get some thunderstorms and rain tomorrow," I said, "you want me to pick you up so you won't have to ride your bike in the rain?"
"Really," she asked stunned.
"Yeah," I said.
"Thanks; thanks really nice of you! I would like that," she said smiling.
"Okay," I said, "do you wanna head back to the barn?"
"It doesn't matter. It's up to you," she said.
"I could teach you about riding; if you want, of course," I suggested.
"That's fine por me," she said.
"Well, what would you like do," I asked.
"I'm fine with whatever," she said.
"Can you make decisions," I asked jokingly.
"Not very well," she said laughing.
"Well, why don't we head back and I can teach ya some things," I said.
"That sounds good," she said as she got up.
