It's Complicated Chapter Sixty Two
Jasper's POV
It had happened again. It made me sick to my stomach. I should have seen it coming. I should have. It was stupid for me to even think that it wouldn't happen. I saw Ella get up and leave. I saw her on the phone. Of course she was talking to Jacob. She had to tell him that they had gotten in an argument. How could I have been so stupid. I should have followed Lila.
Now, now I was sitting in the back of an ambulância holding onto Lila's hand. They said she was lucky she was able to call Carlisle when she did. She had swallowed water but not too much. Lila's hearing aids were destroyed, completely! She had a small cut above her eye and it was swollen. Thankfully, it didn't need stitches at all.
Mom was standing with me and Lila. Dad was talking to the cops. I guess he was having to explain why he was holding a gun to Jacob's head. I could still hear Troy and Ella arguing. They were starting to quiet down since the cops were starting to look at them. As for Lila, she was standing beside me. We could finally take her home. No one really talked much on this ride. Lila was still in shock. She sat closer to me, I put an arm around her to try and comfort her. She was scared and in a silent world. Lila was starting to respond to some signs. It was useless trying to talk to her when she couldn't hear.
We got her início and she seemed a bit mais relaxed.
"Lila, please say something," I signed.
"I can't believe it happened...again," she signed without looking at me.
"I know! I am so sorry," I signed.
"It's not your fault," she signed.
I saw mom was waving her hand at me and Lila.
"What is it," I asked.
"Lila, you have a visitor. Do you want to see him," mom asked as she signed.
Lila just shrugged her shoulders.
It was Troy. What was he doing here? He looked upset. Almost mad.
I watched at he went and sat in front of Lila.
"Lila," he signed, "I am so sorry!"
"It's okay," she signed almost crying again.
He gave her a hug and the tears started coming again. Troy held Lila until she finished crying.
"I want you to know that I broke up with Ella," he tried to sign.
"Why? You two were great together," she said.
"Yes we were," Troy signed, "but after all this, I don't want anything to do with her. I see how she really is around family and if we were to have a family, I don't want it to be like that."
"Oh," she said sadly, "I'm so sorry about everything."
"You have nothing to be sorry for," he tried to sign, "nothing at all!"
"Okay," Lila signed confused.
"Lila, are you hungry," mom asked signing.
"No," she signed.
"Okay, I'll cook you anything you want when you are ready," she signed.
"Okay, thanks," she signed.
"Lila, if you ever need anything, text me," Troy signed.
"Okay, thank you," Lila signed and then hugged him.
"Bye Lila, it was nice meeting you," Troy said, "and you too Jasper. Take good care of her."
"Oh, I will," I said smiling.
"If you ever need anything, Lila has my number," he said.
"Okay, thanks man," I said.
With that Troy left.
"I'm going to go take a shower. I am all sticky from the saltwater," Lila signed.
"Okay," I said.
