It's Complicated Chapter Sixty
Lila's POV
I was so sick of Jasper's attitude toward me. I didn't need anyone but him; I didn't have to trust anyone but him. Whatis wrong with only wanting to have once close friend? I don't need a number of friends just to turn their backs on me. We saw how that worked out. It ended terribly. I just wanted to keep to myself. It was better that way and deaf people are so friendly. It freaks me out a bit! Hearing people are never this nice.
"Lila wait up," Scotty signed as I looked behind me.
I groaned to myself. I just wanted to be alone!
"Where are you going? It's lunch time," he asked curiously.
"I'm not very hungry," I stated.
"Same here. Do you wanna go dance," he asked hopeful.
I looked for a way out of this but I couldn't think of one.
Scotty grabbed my hand and my coração started beating out my chest or so it felt like.
"No," I said as I yanked my hand backwards.
"Sorry," he signed as he looked at me apologetic.
"Jasper told you, didn't he," I signed.
"Yeah, please don't be mad at him! I begged him to tell me since you wouldn't tell me," he said signing.
"I'm not mad," I signed.
I really wasn't. It was kind of a relief to not have to tell him myself. I just need to get over this and not to let this effect my life anymore than it already has.
"Are you sure," he asked, "if you are mad anyone it should be me!"
"No, it's kind of a relief," I signed snugly.
"That's good," Scotty signed, "you can trust me! Just tell me things that make you uncomfortable and what is okay to do!"
"Talking in uncomfortable," I muttered.
"Well, you will get use to that," he signed laughing.
"I guess," I signed.
Scotty started walking away, so I followed. I had nothing else to do. He looked behind him, saw me following him, and smiled at me. Scotty sure did seem happy for me to talk to him but then again he was always happy. How could someone who is slowly losing their hearing be happy. I mean I am angry that I have lost my hearing all at once, much less is just slowly going away. That has to be frustrating.
We got to the theatre and I sat in one of the chairs as he went on stage. I watched him dance. Scotty knew how to dance. He was a dancer which meant he knows a lot about dancing. Scotty's dancing looked effortless, like it was segundo nature to him. Which it probably was. I was kind of jealous of that. If I didn't know my mom was a dancer and I felt like I should not be a dancer then I wouldn't care about this. But the fact she was a dancer makes me want to try to dance. It all reality, I just wanted to remember memories. I wanted to see her face. What it looked like to smiling. Also, I wanted to remember what it felt like to dance with her as I was little girl. Everything about dancing made me feel close to her. I kind of felt stupid for feeling this way. I barley knew my mom, I didn't really have the connection with her. I was so little when she died. I wish Billy would have just called me his own. Lied to me. It would make this so much easier.
I received a text from Ella saying that her and Troy were coming into town. She wanted to meet up, talk about the wedding and the dress I would be wearing. If I was right, I think she was having the wedding in Florida. A de praia, praia wedding that is. I guess since she hasn't been here for a while it would be pointless to have a wedding here. Plus, there was not really a good place for the wedding.
It was finally the weekend and Jasper and I were at home. I was happy to be going home. But not so happy that I would possibly have to see Jacob again. But maybe I wouldn't have to. Ella and Troy came over kind of early on Saturday. I was hoping to sleep all dia but my plans were changed. They came to pick me up and we went to eat brunch. I was happy to be spending time with them after I left on such a azedar, azedo note.
"Hey Lila," Ella said cheerful as she came through the front door.
"Hi." I said as I have her a hug, "hey Troy!"
"Hey how are you," he asked as he gave me the awkward one arm hug.
"I'm alright. Thank you," I said, "how about you two?"
"We are so excited to be up here for a few days," Ella said smiling.
"Are you ready to go," Troy asked.
"I sure am," I stated.
We went and ate some breakfast then we went to some shop. I hadn't every been or I just didn't remember this place. We went inside and Ella already new the color and style of dress I would be wearing. It was kind of sad I hadn't helped her to pick out the bridesmaid dresses. I haven't done anything for the wedding. I was just a bridesmaid. It's not like I should expect to be maid of honor. We never played together when we were younger. It was always Jacob and I.
I tried on the dress and it was a perfect fit. It didn't need alterations at all. It wasn't too tight or too big. Plus, it was the right length on me. We finished up earlier than she thought we would. So we went back to my house and just talked. Well, Esme and Carlisle talked mais to them than I did.
"You are back kind of soon," Jasper signed as he entered the room.
"Yeah, the dress fit perfect," I signed, "there was nothing else to do!"
"Oh bummer," he signed.
"Yeah I know! I was hoping to help pick out the bridesmaid dresses but she had already figured it out," I signed.
"Less work for you," he signed.
"True but I wanted to do something for them," I signed.
"You are going to travel and be in there wedding. That should be enough," Jasper signed laughing.
"I guess so," I signed.
"Hey do you wanna go to the beach," he asked suddenly, "we haven't been in a good while!"
"Sounds good to me," I signed, "is Esme and Carlisle okay with it?"
"Mom we are going to the beach," Jasper signed.
"Lila, Ella and Troy are here. You should stay and talk to them," Esme signed.
"Did you two bring swimsuits," I asked Ella and Troy.
"Sadly not," Ella said but not sad at all.
"Isn't the water here freezing," Troy asked.
"That is what makes it fun," I said laughing.
"Invite your from school," I signed to Jasper, "we can go with them when they get here. I am sure they will leave soon!"
"Okay, good idea," He signed.
As soon as Ella and Troy left Jasper and I could go to the beach. I was actually kind of excited about this.
