The reason was that the cities of the state of california around (1920-1930 )were well known por its freedom and mild oppression against black people. So this theory emphasizes that he reffers chicago as the promisse land, or the land of his dreams por saying ``land of california`` as an expression.
but some people could swer that he acctually sings ``land of california OR my sweet início chicago``
