L.A. are anything to go by, Fox really wants you to know about their new detective series Backstrom starring Rainn Wilson, although whether you\'ll actually like the \'douche-tective\' is another matter altogether.

\'Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom\' is a real jerk, or like the ad creatives say, a \'Total Dick\'.

Rainn Wilson comes generally across as a sympathetic and likeable person, as do his usual characters, so are you prepared for a sexist, angry and unfiltered version of the actor?

Swedish criminologist and novelist Leif G.W. Persson\'s hit series of books of the same name, although this version of the detective will find himself tackling crime in 21st century Portland.

These billboards certainly stand out and were spotted along multiple locations along

Sunset Boulevard and along La Cienega Boulevard from January 14 to January 21, 2015.

Backstrom solve the crimes, but does anyone want to watch him do it if he is so thoroughly annoying and unappealing a character.
