The Teen Choice Awards provides fans with an opportunity to use their considerable power on social media to rally together and vote for their faves in an effort to send them home with an unwieldy — though nonetheless iconic — Teen Choice surfboard. 

The 17th annual ceremony — hosted by Gina Rodriguez (

), and Ludacris — aired live from the Galen Center in Los Angeles on Sunday on Fox.
