You may not have Jamie\'s impressive abs or Claire\'s heaving bosom, but you can still set the mood for your beloved this Valentine\'s Day with the original score from

Th the album won\'t be released until Feb. 10, composer Bear McCreary shared one of his favorite tracks exclusively with PEOPLE to whet fans\' appetites.

"The Woman of Balnain" first aired at the end of the Starz show\'s third episode, when Claire (Caitriona Balfe) listened to a bard perform as Jamie (Sam Heughan) translated the nostalgic lyrics for her.

"It was actually the first piece of music I ever composed for the series," says McCreary, who\'s also written music for

. "This song tells the story of a woman who traveled mysteriously through standing stones, just as Claire experienced."

Adds the composer: "This revelation gives Claire her first glimpse of hope that she might find a way home."

But McCreary hopes the song is inspirational to fans of the show as well.

"My job was to write a song that sounds convincingly Scottish, hauntingly evocative and yet uplifting enough that it ends with a sense of hope, even urgency," he says. "I hope it inspires viewers to join Claire and venture out into the Highlands in search of home."
