-The way they started out. It was shallow and heartless, their relationship started for all of the wrong reasons. Brooke wanted to sleep with Lucas, she saw him as just a sexual challenge. Brooke knew that him and Peyton had something going, but she still felt the need to lie and manipulate her way in between them, all for the sake of being able to sleep with him
-The way they felt like they had to tip toe around eachother, and change their true personalities in order to please or be considered "acceptable" by the other one. Brooke was afraid and even somewhat ashamed to be her true self around Lucas. She wasn't even able to relate to him enough to be able to connect with him on her own. She had to go to Peyton for help on how to connect with her own boyfriend, and steal her CD idea
-the way they don't trust eachother, and could never learn to put the past behind them, and truly just move forward. Their past was always lingering in the background, and made Brooke permanently insecure. It was always something causing some kind of argument. Either it was Lucas hanging out too much with Peyton, Lucas using recycled words from a letter to Peyton, Brooke sleeping with chris keller, Lucas not needing Brooke enough or letting her all the way in, Lucas not showing Brooke that he loved her... blah blah blah. Something new every day. It feels like they spent more time telling eachother they were sorry, instead of just loving, trusting, and accepting eachother
-the childish, shallow games they played with eachother. Faking a pregnancy for revenge? Friends with benefits? Brooke using Lucas in season 4 just to spite Peyton? Not epic or romantic at all
-the constant questioning of eachothers love for one another. Not once did they (Lucas mainly) make the effort on their own of actually showing eachother that they love eachother, or make eachother feel secure about why they love eachother
-the way that Brooke never felt like she was #1 to Lucas, but #2.
-the way that their relationship just felt like more of an obligation, or hassle that they had to force their way through... rather than just an enjoyable experience that they both truly wanted and were happy with
And pleeeenty of other reasons. I really just didnt think they were a good match for eachother. There were other people out there that could make eachother way happier, than they were together. And to me, that's not what true love is about
okay , but Peyton didn't the same?
Se knew Lucas and Brooke were together , but she still cheated.
-the constant questioning of eachothers love for one another. Not once did they (Lucas mainly) make the effort on their own of actually showing eachother that they love eachother, or make eachother feel secure about why they love eachother-
but come on be honest here , he never did that to Peyton either.
but BL had some of these moments.
like Lucas giving Brooke his room , because 'he wasn't ready to lose her yet'-or brooke coming back earlier because she missed Lucas {3x14}.
or Lucas taking Brooke to the rivercourt because she's the biggest part of his world.
Peyton told her that she didn't want anything with Lucas. That she just wanted to have fun & she didn't want anything. That's why Brooke still when after Lucas. If Peyton have told her directly that she wanted something with Lucas. We all know that Brooke would have step aside. Peyton didn't do it. Not a single time. & Brooke started with the desire of sleeping with him. But she didn't do it. Lucas & Peyton actual relationship was going to start with them sleeping together.
And no, Peyton didn't do the same thing to Brooke. When Peyton kissed Lucas in the hotel room, she actually had deep feelings for him, and it meant something to her. Unlike Brooke, who tried to come between LP just for the sake of sex and overcoming the challenge that Lucas was for her
I mean Peyton knew that BL was together, right?
and she told Brooke that she doesn't want Lucas and she STILL
kissed him ... and you know..act like he was her boyfriend in that moment.
AND you can't tell me that Brooke didn't love Lucas, because she did!
I know what you mean , maybe at the beginning she wanted sex ,BUT she 'fall in love' with him and Peyton didn't care at all!!
Also, Brooke should never have gone after Lucas knowing full well that Peyton liked him. She knew that from Leytons first kiss but she still went after him. Also she knew that Peyton keeps her feelings to herself and struggles to tell people how she is really feeling so she should have known about Peytons feelings for Lucas, if she was a good friend. What Brooke did was sly and conniving especially the way she was at the party at Nathans house in Season 1!
but but if peyton would be a good friend she shoudl have seen that Brooke and Lucas are together and she still went after him.
I think it works for both of them.
both went after a guy knowing that the other one loved him.
but the prob. is that peyton did it twice.
They start kissing & blah blah blah. & then Lucas tell hers that she wants her. that he had wanted it a long time. & Peyton brush him off. & the next day Peyton tells Brooke that she doesn't want anything serious. That she just wants to have fun.
It wasn't Brooke fault at all. Peyton make it clear. There you have the proof. & is not Brooke fault that she had to call Lucas to help her with a drugged Peyton. Is not Brooke's fault that the night both, Brooke & Lucas, while taking care of Peyton. Brooke showed a caring & tender side of her. & Lucas liked it. That's why he decide to take the chance to date her.
This isn't going to change anything, and WE would be pissed if TBSAC or any other LP fan was coming on the BL picks and going at BL.
You asked LP fans why they dislike BL, so let them answer in peace.
I hate BL because of who they were as a couple, plain and simple. I honestly never even saw the point of them staying together for as long as they did. Lucas never ever put Brooke and her feelings first, and Brooke was never able to let go of her insecurities and paranoia. Who wants to be in a relationship like that? Yes, they obviously were in love with eachother... but at what cost? What good does it do to be in love with a person, if it's also that same person who is somewhat preventing you from being truly happy, and holding you back in a way? And that's exactly what BL did to eachother. Brooke was never truly 110% happy with Lucas, and Lucas was never able to really let Brooke in, NEED her the way she wanted him to, and establish a connection with her like the deep one he had with Peyton.
Never once did I see a quality in them that made me think "man, this couple is going to last. What they have is really something special, and they're really in it for the long haul." it was the opposite. All the time, when watching them, I found myself thinking "why hasn't this relationship ended by now? What is the point if they are just fighting, and complaining all the time?". And till this day, I can't help but feel that way when I see them. I will never be able to look at BL and see a couple that were genuinely happy together, unconditionally devoted to eachother, and were meant to last.
I understand that Brooke had every reason to feel gaurded and insecure by LP cheating in season 1. But at some point during BLs second attempt together... we should have seen Lucas step up, and PROVE to her that he really is ALL about making her happy this time. Over time, Lucas' new and improved actions (that he should have developed) should have diminished all of those insecurities for Brooke, and they should have been able to put the past in the past, and just move on and be happy together. But that never happened. Instead, Lucas just continued to further bring out those insecure emotions in Brooke. Whether it was from cheating or not, he was always doing something to show Brooke that she wasn't #1. Either he was ditching her to go help Peyton, ignoring her requests to not talk to Peyton, not removing himself from situations that he knew would make Brooke unhappy, not calling her while he was away, or just not SHOWING her in general that he loved her. Brooke doesn't deserve that.
And Lucas deserves to be with someone that he can fully open up to, and be himself around. Someone that he doesn't have to make apologies to every 5 minutes, for being his true self. Someone who makes him WANT to be a good boyfriend, faithful, and trustworthy. Someone who he is willing to stand up for, and fight for until the very end. Someone who knows that it doesn't matter if he talks to other girls, because they are, and always will be the #1 girl in his life. And that person is NOT Brooke.
I could go on forever about why I don't like this couple, but it all just comes down to the fact that they simply aren't right for eachother. At all.
Those two were never right for eachother, yeah they may have looked after eachother and cared about eachother alot -but to me they were always a great friendship & never really had what it too to make it as a couple, the main reason obviousley being that brooke would always be second best to Peyton -but their relationship to me was always very 'childish' and 'highschooly' and although yes i do agree that they were in love, it wasnt deepp love, and always came across to me as a bit silly. They could never be completley theirselves & always felt as though they have to be somebody theyre not just to please eachother, wheras peyton & Lucas could just be around eachther -completley & 100% themselves -and they loved eachither for who they were. They spent half of their time arguing over things, such as peyton -because we all knew brooke to Lucas was just somebody he convinced himself he was in love with to hide behind the immensity of his feelings for Peyton. They could never really get through to eachother, although they tried they could never help eachother -because they didnt have that power or connection like when she said to him 'why dont you ever just let me all the way in' -he always let peyton 100% in.
I could go on for paragraphs about why BL arent meant to be, but the real reason is because LP are, lucas & Peyton have this magic epicconnection that just shouts out soulmates, and i dont se that in Brucas, i just see a friendship that got confused, and they thought it could be more -but it wasnt.
