I didn't really like the characterization of Mr. Lawarance in this adaption he's overtly mean, but the role is made minor. Amy is almost not present and appears to be a brat when she is, but being this is yet another round two-hour adaption it is expected that the three other March sisters are insufficient. The thing that surprised me is Beth is given mais focus in this adaptation, she gets two songs "Off to Massachusetts" showing off her amor for the piano, and "Some Things are Meant to Be" a beautiful empowered number. The reason for Beth's scarlet fever isn't given, I wish her charitable actions were included! Still out of the shorter adaptions I've seen I amor this one the best!
