Lisa thought that if Michael would see that Madeline didn't bothered about his present,he would get her out of the house.She called a friend and told him that she wants to have a painting with her and Michael in their wedding's dia ready until Michael's birthday and her friend said that it'll be.Now,she only needed the shirt.Madeline asked a friend to help her about it and Lisa spyed them and after a day,she already had the shirt.Madeline was working really hard at the painting and it was ready only in the night before Michael's birthday.In that morning at 9 a.m.,everybody came in Michael's room with a cake cantar "Happy birthday!" to him.Michael was so excited and happy about this day!Madeline was tired,but seeing Michael smiling made her to feel better.After the breakfast,Michael was very impatient to receive his presents.Lisa was the first.WHen Michael saw the shirt,he was really happy:"Wow,Lisa!it's like you read my minds!This is just...perfect!Thank you so much!",he said hugging her.When Madeline saw the shirt,she became pale.How could that be?The camisa was unique and she had it!"How could she...she spyed me!Oh,God!...",she said as she saw the painting.Madeline excused herself and went to her room,whyle Kathrine gave him her present.Everybody suspected that there was something wrong,but they couldn't go after Madeline,Michael would become worried about her.Lisa exscused herself and went to Madeline's room.As soon as Madeline saw her,she stopped por looking for another present for Micahel."Why did you did it?How could you?i thought that maybe just today,you'll forget about your problems with me and we could be friends,at least today,in his birthday!You are just...you don't know when to stop!Now,lisa,now!Now it's the time to stop,at least for a single day!"."I told you that here's not enough o espaço for the 2 of us,but you didn't listened to me!Maybe seguinte time,you'll do what I say and get out of my way!Do you see where your stubbornly took you?Noe,you're that close to be kicked out of the house.".Lisa came back downstairs and Michael asked her:"Where's Madeline?"."She's in her room."."What is she doing there?",he asked."Well,maybe she...".Everybody saw Madeline coming down with a luggage."What are you doing?",Michael asked her."I..I'm leaving...I'm soryy,here's your present."."Why are you doing this?"."Because...because of a reason that you wouldn't understand...Goodbye,Michael!".She went to the door.Nobody didn't wanted to stop her,they wanetd to let Michael to do it."Why are you doing this?",he said grabbing her hand and turning her with her face at him.Madeline was crying.Michael hugged her and although she wanted to get out of his life,she hugged him too,close."Because of Lisa...she didn't liked me...since I met her...and she kept screaming at me and slaping me since she moved here...and I didn't fell on stairs,she hit me with a plate...and she roubou my present...this camisa that I gave it to you was suppose to be unique,the only one in the world...and the painting i made myself,I just finished it tonight and she just...I can't stay here anymore..I have to leave,before she kills me!",Madeline cried at his chest.Michael was shocked,but the others weren't that shocked.He released Madeline.Lisa came and grabbed Madeline's hair with her left hand and pulled it up and with the other hand she slapped Madeline.Michael was too shocked to move!Madeline fell down rying and when she looked in Lisa's eyes,she saw the hate she saw only in her first step-mother's eyes!Madeline dragged a few metters on the floor to get away from lisa,then she got up and went to her room.Lisa was so nervous that when michael tried to stop her,she pushed him away and ran to Madeline's room.The others followed Lisa.Madeline was squat in a corner crying when they arrived.Lisa was coming to Madeline.She grabbed her hair and she tried to do the same thing she did before,but Michael grabbed her arm and forced Lisa to drop madeline and turn with her face to him.Then,Michael slapped her once and she tried to say something,but he said angry:"Lisa,stop it!Can't you see that she's already on the floor,crying?!I want you to get out of here!Now!".Lisa left the room.Michael went to Madeline and hugged her."I'm sorry...",she said."No,Madeline,I'm sorry!I shouldn't have neglected you like that!If only I would have spent mais time with you I would have noticed that there's something wrong with you!I'm so sorry,Madeline!",he said crying.Madeline felt so seguro and loved now,more than when Martha and Harry brouhgt her in her new home!Michael said looking at his family:"I'll divorce!I don't want Lisa around Madeline,and I need Madeline around me!".Everybody then left the room,after Michael turned his head to Madeline,who was so happy now and was crying happy tears!
After a while,Michael and Lisa divorced and Michael said that he was happier with Madeline as his "sister" than with Lisa as his wife.And things remained like that,for years.Madeline was happy to have Michael as her "brother",although she stil loved him,as a girl loves a boy...But he didn't,or that's what he thought...
