I'm so comfused

My bf cheated on me and disapered before I found out. (this is over the internet i never met my old bf in person) And then a guy that I didn't realy know that well said he was interested in me. Evryone said that I should just brake up with my old bf and go with this new guy. And I did. But I still amor my old bf. But my old bf is till missing. Did I do the right thing?
