The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 was the first ever Junior Eurovision Song Contest, held in Copenhagen. 16 countries made their debut: United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark, F.Y.R Macedonia, Greece, Cyprus, Norway, Sweden, Latvia, Poland, Belarus, Croatia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Romania & Malta.

So the winner was declared Croatia. This is the first time they won any Eurovision Song Contest. Poland's 16th placing was their worse.
