Jessica, who made her exit from Girls\' Generation in 2014, answered a few questions about her thoughts on girl groups in a recent interview with

The interviewer asked, "As a solo artist who was once a member of top girl group Girls\' Generation, what do you think of the rookie group

IOI?" Jessica responded, "If later on, my daughter wants to be in a girl group, then I think I am going to oppose."

She continued, "It\'s hard becoming a member of a girl group among so many competitors. You have to have luck and also need to work hard. I was in Girls\' Generation because of luck, and fortunately, Girls\' Generation received a lot of love." Jessica once again emphasized her previous response, concluding, "I would want to help my daughter walk a different career path."

What do you think of Jessica\' comments about girl groups?

I bet she wouldn\'t, and any idol wouldn\'t. There\'s no telling all the things that we don\'t even know about that goes on behind the scenes.

Just like taeyeon. Few years ago, taeyeon also said she didn\'t want her child to be a singer too. This career is too tough and both of them don\'t want their children to suffer this.

I kind of agree and disagree on this one, I understand if you don\'t want  your child to waste half of their life on a job that only gives you so many chances to prove yourself talented, and then we have the rumors and the crazy fans trying to chase after you, but then again, shouldn\'t it be her daughters choice? I\'ve read a lot about Taeyeon\'s pre debut story, her parents didn\'t want her to become a singer for whatever reason it was, but it took sm to convince them that it was her dream and they should give her a chance, if someone is willing to take things to their right hand and work as hard as they ever did before to pursue a dream, I say they have the right to do whatever they want in life, of course i\'m not Jessica, so really it\'s up to her to convince her daughter to follow a different path, but if she is talented and really wants to become a singer and show the world her talents, I say, give her a shot, maybe she\'ll reach her dreams.

ofc being an idol is tired but idol can be famous and rich at a young age, plus they have company take care of their beauty, style and can wear beautiful cloths. thats so much better than many other jobs. however the fact is that most idols have to sell their bodies to get famous is one dark side of bcoming an idol

She wouldn\'t be the first one to say something like this. There are tons of celebs who have gone on record saying they don\'t want their kids involve in the entertainment industry, and pro athletes who said they don\'t want their kids to go pro like them. Of course, in the end, it\'s the kid\'s choice on what s/he wants to do.

urgh ... why cant people just like both snsd and jessica.. i mean i was pissed in the beginning too but they\'ve both moved on like mature adults, you all should move on too and support both parties

But Jessica HAS to say she\'s moved on. Legally she cannot open up about what happened, promising to say nothing was how she was able to get out of her SM contract without legal assistance. So it\'s still a very touchy subject when you know she can\'t be honest about her feelings.

can you blame her? people are constantly criticizing you and knetz are always posting articles hating on something you do, idols really have guts... i dont think i could handle what they do.

I remember Taeyeon said the same thing, and it\'s the KPOP industry is so cutthroat, I\'m not surprised at all.

She does not want her kid to be in a Girl-group because of what happened to her.
