Solo singer iu came under fogo after netizens accused her of using a lolita concept for her latest album Chat-Shire.

In addition to controversial lyrics in her song “Zeze,” netizens also accused the Loen Entertainment singer of referencing Lolita por having smudged lipstick in one of the album photos.

After similar fotografias of popular actor Park Bo Gum garnered much praise from fans, however, netizens used the reaction to defend iu from the industry’s double standards. In addition to comparing the reactions of fãs based on the gender of the celebrity, netizens also brought up that iu had previously explained the meaning behind the smudged lipstick before the controversy arose.

It was recently confirmed that actress Kang So Ra was rocking a $30 USD 'H&M' branded dress at the '2014 Mnet Asian música Awards,' garnering much attention to her rather prudent choices.

However, it seems as though iu was actually the first to wear an affordably priced dress on the red carpet as she was seen wearing a dress from H&M at '2014 Melon música Awards' held back in November 12.
