The violence is more played up and intimate in the first season, but there is a fair bit of Takano/Tokyo violence in the second.

In both of then there are many deaths...just think about 2nd season's Minagoroshi-hen, the arc's name says it all (translated: Massacre arc); but still in the first season...I don't know why but the deaths seemed more apparant...probably because they were more brutal ..
