He sends a car for screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls director Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard of Oz. Subsisting on a diet of bananas and peanuts, the three men spend five days, locked in Selznick's office, crafting a screenplay that will become the blueprint for one of the most successful films of all time!

Richmond's historic movie palace, The Byrd Theatre will be hosting Civil War Cinema on November 2nd, 2008. If you are a chocolate lover, history buff, or Gone with the Wind fã this event is perfect for you!

Civil War Cinema is an event benefitting The Museum of the Confederacy and
The Byrd Theatre Foundation.
This unique movie event will begin at 1pm with a Champagne & chocolate reception followed por a lecture on the Civil War in cinema por entertaining author & renowned professor Brian Wills at 2pm and at 3pm the showing of the great American classic, Gone with the Wind.

Tickets are $25 or $15 with a student ID and can be purchased in advance at Plan 9 Record Store or The Museum of the Confederacy.
