I think the final and everything that happened after Freddie left the hospital was completelly ridiculous and unbelieveable especially the John Foster beating Freddie with a bat part. The only explanation of this nonsense can be if it was all Effy's dream and it continued in the last episode too, because a lot of other ridiculous stuff happened: Pandora going to Harvard (this girl confused Hamlet and Harry Potter a year ago!), Naomi loving Emily since twelve which makes no sense at all in terms of their previous SL, Naomi's speach that more reminded of Freffy relationship than NE actual story, Thomas "running like a dog" and John Foster saying he is ready to leave which means there was no point killing Freddie if he was ready to give up on Effy so easily.

Writers clearly messed up and failed with writing a decent ending, what was done to Freddie was only done for shocking effect and made no sense at all. The dream scenario is the only way to fix everything.

this would of been a good ending, seriously 4x08 was such an epic fail when it ended I thought are you kidding me!!
