When I first joined I would add people with similar interests and I would add back those that added me. Then I stopped adding back and would only add people that I thought shared an interest. Now I just don't add anybody anymore. I don't hardly do anything on Fanpop anymore. :(

I fanned someone yesterday for the first time in a long time based on a shared interest. But the last time I added someone who had fanned me first they then pretty quickly sent a message asking me to join a random club. So apart from yesterday's fanning, I can't remember the last time I fanned someone and I didn't regret it pretty quickly...

Wow! Thanks for the extra response :) I agree. I only add people who share my interest. I want friends, but friendship isn't fake.

I fan people with similar interests who have either added a contribution I like, said something I agree with or have many clubs in common with me. Normally it's a mix of these. If I didn't think the person would fan back (e.g. if I see that account hasn't been active for a while), this won't stop me fanning.

I am barely active anymore. I miss the good old times 5 years ago.
