O how much joy do we all get when we find out we have a prop or are a dedicated fan. It shows how are hard work of adding and loving our time on the site is paying off.

I woke this morn and loged on like every morning just to find out i am now a die-hard fã of heroes YAY was the first thing to go through my head the joy O the joy. But my joy ended as fast as it came when another user left me an abusive comment i won't give names *cough* calippo87 *cough*, but they called me a 'gay lord' on for a pick i made this was just uneeded. :(

But then when i looked at all my props and looked at all the ones i had been given in the past 7 days it cheered me up a hole load, i made me think i don't need to bother with the odd stupid comment that comes up now then i just need thank all the people who have given me props and leave the nice comments that make my day. The ones that make me laught and well not cry but you get the picture. Thanks to all my 77 fãs and everyone who keeps this site runing its the best place to be on the web where even if you feel down because of one user you feel great because of the thousands.

I was quite shocked por the changed look of Fanpop, it looks as if it were Facebook, I have nothing against a few changes, banner designs? okay I would be fine with that, no mais Icons? I would be fine with that too. But changing the whole site is a little much, don't you think? Not that theres anything wrong with it, but I do believe that I joined Fanpop, not Facebook. All I'm saying is that I believe this change was much to sudden, rushed if you would like. Thats all I'm trying to say, I don't want to be reported for this, so please understand that this is just my opinion. Tell me what you think of the new Fanpop.

Ratings. They sound good in theory. What better way to know how good content is? Unfortunately, the reality is far, far different:

Trolls - We've all seen them. They rate things a one, just because they can.

Non-Raters - There is a LOT of awesome content on fanpop that goes unrated.

Friends and Enemies - friends get high ratings. Enemies get low ratings. It happens.

Rating Unfairly - People dish out 1-star ratings to imagens and vídeos containing characters/pairings they don't support.

Rating the Uploading Process - Content gets rated based on HOW it was uploaded instead of the quality of the actual...

This section of my guide for fanpop users details the ratings system and was last edited on 26 May 2008.

As with any web site, fanpop is only as good as its content. Some content - what I think of as the soul of the site - is generated por users in the fora and in comments on the rest of the content and cannot be rated. But the rest of the content - the body of the site - has a ratings system. The whole principle of the ratings system is a democratic one: if enough people vote, the really qualified items rise to the top. That's why everything that can be rated can be sorted in a list from highest...
