Does anyone else think Juvia's English Dub voice actress is a terrible choice?

Now to clarify, I do not hate or oppose English dubs. Far from it, I usually watch animê in English. I began watching Fairy Tail's dub and was impressed with how most VA's fitted their respective character well, especially Todd Haberkorn as Natsu, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Erza, R. Bruce Elliott as Makarov and David Wald as Gajeel.

But then Juvia appears with Brina Palencia in the role. She was excellent as 'rain-woman' Juvia but since has proven to be atrocious as Juvia. Her performance is flat and dull whilst making the character sound old and monotonous, the opposite of Juvia who should sound lively and youthful.

But it is not entirely down to her, Palencia is a talented VA otherwise (Future Diary as Yuno shows that). The script edits omit her third person and replace Gray-Sama with 'MY beloved Gray' or 'MY love'. Both sound too possessive and deluded and combined with her old, dull voice it sounds ridiculous. Juvia in the English dub is delivered as an entirely different, lesser character which is such a shame.

I believe even now that Luci Christian would have been the perfect choice to voice her. Many dubs have also kept in third person and Japanese honorifics so I see no trouble here.

I apologise for the lengthy rant-like explanation but that's how it is to me. So can anyone give their opinions on Juvia's English VA? What are your thoughts on the dub? Any VA's you think stand out well or are poorly chosen?

An extra note, I think Gray's VA was good initially but has since become flat and empty. He sounds unfocused and bored now.
