Yeah to a degree I think Flynn Rider does look simlar to John Smith. Thier outfits are simlar and hair styles are simlar but are still different in many ways. And oh there names, they are the only leading men to have a last name! (not counting sequels, just orginal movies)There is one differance, John Smith dont have a beard on his chin like Fynn Rider does.And though Flynn Rider looks hot I dont think he is as hot as John Smith! Hey I cant help it John is my very favorite prince/non prince besides Naveen!

I saw the 2D sketch of Flynn and I think Disney tried to make him based on John Smith. They have square jaws, hair like that, family name, and are like cool men. But Flynn is dandy and bearded while John has dignity, smart, dependable. Flynn is a WANTED person while John is a wonderful captain.

and oh, john may not have a beard but he had at the beggining.
Also, I saw a leaflet who said there will be a event of statues of sand of Disney heroes and I saw Flynn's and at first I thought it was John Smith.
