When he was done on the phone with Daisy, Max asked, “So what’s going on with your uncle?”
All Donald said was, “We gotta go over to Uncle Scrooge’s. Says he needs our help.”
“Um… What’s he need our help with?” Goofy asked.
“Says he knows who’s behind those fotografias and needs help gathering together the evidence.” Donald answered.
Mickey glared at Donald and shouted, “There is no way I’m helping that girlfriend stealing old miser do anything!”
Huey Dewey and Louie glared up at Mickey. “Our Uncle Scrooge is not an old miser, and he didn’t steal your girlfriend!” Louie said
“Yeah he is and he did.” Mickey grumbled
“No he’s not and he didn’t! Quit insulting him!” Huey shouted
“And didn’t you hear Uncle Donald? He just said that Uncle Scrooge found out who’s behind those phony photos.” Dewey said
Mickey just shrugged and stood there for several minutos not saying anything. Finally Donald said, “Didn’t you hear us? Uncle Scrooge said that he’s figured out who’s behind those fotografias and he wants help clearing things up! That proves that the whole story about them dating was just a hoax! Now come on!”
“Fine.” Mickey snapped and stomped out to his car behind everyone else.
While Mickey drove over to McDuck Mansion he was deep in thought. At first all he could think was negative thoughts about Scrooge and Minnie. Then he began to think about what Donald had said, about the story being a fraud. “Well, I guess it’s possible that they’re not dating and the whole story was just made-up to make Scrooge look bad. I mean Minnie has never lied to me before, and she’s never given any indication that she wanted a rich boyfriend.” He said to himself “And Donald did say that Scrooge figured out who was behind the stories and wanted help clearing anything everything. Why would he say that if the stories weren’t a hoax?”
Meanwhile at McDuck Mansion, Scrooge, Minnie and Webby were in the office busy gathering the evidence against Laura. Minnie and Webby were on the computers researching the Lil’ Miss Duckburg Pageant, hoping to find out if it had any history of scandals. While, Scrooge was on the phone with the mall manager, trying to convince him that he needed to see some security camera footage. “Well Mr. McDuck, I don’t see any need for you to view this footage.” The manger said, “There haven’t been any reports of theft or other crimes.”
“Aye, I know that.” Scrooge replied, “But I believe someone took fotografias of my friend and me, edited them, and is using them to blackmail me.”
“Well I suppose you can see the footage if you’re that interested.” The manger said.
Scrooge started to answer, “Thank you, I’ll be…”
But he was interrupted por a knock on the office door.
Webby ran to answer it; “I’ll get it!” she called. When she opened the door she saw the guys standing in the doorway, “Hi, boys!” she called to Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
“Hey, Webby!” they called back
Minnie glanced over from the computer, and noticed Mickey. “Hello Mickey. I’m surprised that you were willing to come help us.” She said coolly.
Mickey, feeling embarrassed, came over to the escrivaninha, mesa where she was sitting, “Minnie can we talk, somewhere alone?” he asked.
“I suppose…” she replied, “Come on let’s step out into the hall.”
Once the two of them were out of the room, Mickey asked, “Minnie, can you please explain to me what’s going on?”
Minnie turned away from him and said, “Well it’s a long story. And you don’t believe anything I say anyway, so why should I bother?”
Mickey tried to hug her, but she pulled away. “Minnie, I’m sorry I accused you of lying. But those stories about you and Scrooge dating, and the two of you spending so much time together… can’t you see why it might make a guy wonder?”
“I suppose I can see that.” Minnie replied, “If you really want to know what’s going on it is a long story and I’m not sure I even understand all the details myself.” Then she proceeded to tell everything she knew about the pageant, Laura and Vicky, and the edited photos.
When she was finished, Mickey could see that he that he had been mistaken, “Gosh that’s… um…something,” he said. “Guess I just shouldn’t have assumed the stories were true. I’m…um… sorry.”
Minnie signed, “Well, It’s alright I forgive you. And, I guess I can see why you might have been a little suspicious.” She paused for a moment and added, “But seguinte time I tell you I’m not dating another man I would like you to believe me.”
“Oh… I…I …I will, I promise. And again I’m sorry I didn’t believe you.” Mickey stammered. Then they hugged and walked back into the office.
When they came back into the office, Mickey saw Scrooge deep in thought, standing por the window looking out. He walked over to him, “Um… Sorry I believed those stories about you.” Mickey grumbled.
Scrooge was a little startled, but then he turned to Mickey and said, “It’s alright Mickey I forgive you. And, I can see why ye might have believed them, Minnie and I have been spending a lot of time together.” He paused for a moment then added, “But now that you’ve calmed down and you understand that we’re not dating, I assume that you’ll be willing to pay for the damages you caused keying me limo in your fit of rage. I’m not about to let you off the hook and pay for those damages, that you caused, myself just because you apologized.”
“For the millionth time I did not key the dang limo!” Mickey shouted.
“Now Mickey don’t keep denying what you did, after all who else would have keyed, ‘stay away from my girl’, onto it?” Scrooge replied.
Mickey glared at him and grumbled, “I don’t know, I just know that I didn’t.”
Scrooge started to say something, but Minnie came over and tapped him the shoulder before he could reply, “Now wait Uncle Scrooge, if Mickey says he didn’t key the limo then he didn’t do it. He’s never tried to harm others property before.”
Scrooge thought about what Minnie said for a moment then said, “Well, we’ll find out soon enough who’s behind it, when I look at the security camera footage.”
margarida arrived a little while after the guys.
When she rang the doorbell Duckworth answered, “Good evening Miss pato I do not believe Mr. McDuck is expecting you.” Duckworth said “If you’re here to asked for another loan to pay for your credit card bill I can assure you the answer will be no.”
“No, that’s do why I’m here!” margarida snapped, “I’m here because Donald called and told me that Uncle Scrooge needed our help!”
“Oh well, that’s different.” Duckworth quickly replied, “But as I said Mr. McDuck is not expecting you so…”
margarida quickly interrupted him with an angry, “HMPH! Well that figures, he’s dating my best friend and he didn’t think to invite me over!”
“Oh, so you believe those stories. Why does this not surprise me?” Duckworth replied, “Anyway, Mr. McDuck is up in his office with everyone else, if you wish to up there and see them.”
margarida made her way up stairs to office. She knocked loudly on the door, which interrupted everyone. Again, Webby jumped up to answer it. When she saw margarida standing in the doorway she said, “Hi…um Aunt Daisy. I didn’t know you were coming.”
“I know Duckworth said you guys weren’t expecting me. But I’m here now.” margarida replied
Scrooge, who was on hold on the phone, glanced over and saw Daisy. As soon as he saw her, he groaned and hoped that she had not come to ask him for money. Trying to sound polite he said, “Why hello Daisy. What brings you here tonight?”
“I’m here because Donald called and told me you needed help. Would someone care to fill me in on what’s going on?” margarida replied
Feeling frustrated he replied, “Well, I’m busy and can’t talk right now.”
Minnie could tell that Scrooge was already tense, and knew that margarida could easily add to his stress. So she quickly said, “Come with me, Daisy, I’ll explain everything to you.”
“Okay!” margarida said as she followed Minnie out into hall.
Once they were in the hall Minnie began to tell margarida the whole story. margarida listened intently until Minnie was finished, then she said, “Oh, so you mean all those fotografias and stories are fake? That’s too bad.” margarida replied
“Daisy Duck!” Minnie snapped, “How you can talk like that?!”
margarida sighed and said, “You’re right, I’m sorry. I just thought the idea of my best friend dating the richest guy in the world was so cool.”
Minnie laughed and said, “Well, now that you understand what’s going on, let’s get back in there and help the others.”
