For those who don't know, there are (basically) 3 voice types. Soprano, Mezzo Soprano, & Alto. Contralto is a subset of alto that can hit notes even lower than an alto can. Soprano has the highest vocal range (i.e, can hit the highest notes) and then it goes down from there, with contralto having the lowest range. These are all female voice types.

All the princesses have been sopranos (Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Mulan, Rapunzel) or mezzo sopranos (Belle, Cinderella, Tiana, Pocahontas).

I am personally either an alto or contralto which means I really can't sing along with any of them. I can barely hit Ariel's high note in "part of your world", the only princess who I can really sing along with fully is Cinderella, and occasionally Belle if my voice is feeling up to it. I can, however, sing along with most of the princes :P

Yes, because i'm contralto and i would love to see a princess with a voice like mine.

But we already have Belle, who is an alto... and we have Pocahontas, who is an alto, as well as Tiana.

I saw where Princesslullaby has them as mezzo-suprano(s), but I think they're more altos, myself, because they hit fewer very high notes.

Yes. But I hope the alto/contralto won't be the vamp. I am not a fan of such stereotypes.

@wavesurf--I can see you make an argument for paige o'hara, but anika noni rose and judykuhn are absolutely mezzo sopranos.

I'm a soprano myself, so I have no trouble singing along with any of the princesses, even Snow. However, I ADORE alto and contralto voices! They are my absolute favorite to listen to! I would love to see a princess hit some of those deep smoky low notes.

If only Judy Garland had gotten the chance to voice a DP. *sigh*

I might have a chance of singing along with them!
