if no one was listening to her, she wasn't listening to anyone's expectation either with an open mind.

I actually don't mind these traits so much in Merida but a person like this would be sort of difficult to work with. She is very stubborn as well and doesn't think through her actions which just causes more trouble for her but I sort of understand her because Elinor was a little overbearing and strict and I probably would have lost my temper with her too at some point. I don't consider her that immature actually but she was sometimes rude, but I think she often had a reason to be, I get her because I was somewhat similar as a teen and I still sometimes lose my temper easily (but not explosively) in real life. I lover that she's a non-comformist and rebel and it's true that there was a lack of good communication between Elinor and Merida that did cause some problems but in a way they are both sort of to blame. Still, these are her worst triats.

Pretty much all of these, Merida is my least favorite Disney Princess

Merida has a terrible time recognizing that she is hurting other people emotionally, because she is "so sure that she is in the right." Merida and Tiana both share the trait of being insensitive. At least, by the end of the movie, Merida recognizes that this is a bad habit... and decides to acknowledge others' needs, but the plotline of TPATF never addresses Tiana's lack of emotional intelligence.

Classless. She had no sense of grace or etiquette and that is what bothered me. She was self-centered and hypocritical, expecting others to understand and conform to her since she didn't want to understand and conform to them. I believe, like Jasmine, her rebelliousness sources from a place of selfishness. I think she was "short-tempered & rude & immature" for the same reasons, being self-absorbed. I don't see "non-conformist" in itself being a flaw because I believe one must look deeper into whether what they are conforming to is morally right or wrong. I also don't see "too straight forward" to be too much of a flaw of hers either.

At least she is changed to be more better at the end.

If the option of "inconsiderate of other people's feelings" was an option I would have picked that, but this'll do.

@laylstepford: How are you calling her classless? Are you going by dictionary meaning or are you defining it in some other way. I see grace in very different ways in others. I feel a person is graceful if they are truthful.

anukriti2409: I called her classless for the beginning of the film when she has no class or manners. I meant class as in etiquette. I think grace is the combination of traits that make up the definition "simple elegance". I believe truthful is one of those qualities but there are many more.

But my least favorite thing about her is that she is selfish and uncompassionate. Rebellious and non-conformistic are more neutral characteristics to me than negative because some of things in this world are worth rebelling against and there are different ways to rebel. Not every expectations are worth to be considered.

I just really disapprove of Merida's method of rebelling.
