Not the movie of course! I like Belle more than Pocahontas but thinking about it, Belle's personality is a little too perfect. Pocahontas is athletic and spiritual so.

Pocahontas is daring and action-packed. Belle's whiny and stubborn.

Pocahontas is stubborn, wild, angsty, and so much more. Belle, well she's perfect.

I think "Belle is perfect" (in a derogatory manner) should be included in the "What are you most tired of hearing?" poll -_-

I don't necessarily think that Belle is perfect or lacks any flaws - in fact, she has a hell load of them except that they are never - not even at one single point of the movie - addressed or rightfully and legitimately pointed at (an issue I also happen to have with Hermione Granger from HP series). The main issue of BaTB as well as Belle's character, to me, is the failure at "show don't tell" rule. We have the villagers TELLING us about how "weird and funny" she is because of her passion and attachement to reading (silly romantic novels, mind you) which is supposed to establish her as intellectual outcast who - again, according to her WORDS not actions - has no one she can really talk to but at the same time it's extremely hard to buy into her outcast status when said villagers also add constant positive remarks about her beauty and perceive her for the most part as a mysterious yet desirable girl rather than directly mistreating her for her intelligence (not to say that she didn't get to experience an intellectual loneliness in any form whatsoever because she clearly did due to being valued solely for her looks rather than her brains, however, no one ever tried to get in a way of her leading her life exactly the way she wanted or being invested in things she was interested in or passionate about although it was a common and major obstacle that almost all of the other princesses had to deal with and overcome at some point). Granted and undoubtedly, Belle has admirable traits and even proves her exceptional bravery at certain points of the movie - such as when she offers to stay in Beast's castle forever instead of her sick father with a perspective of never seeing him again or being free or experiencing an adventure she dreamt of for so long but never had the guts to actually go and find, or when she tried to escape Beast and confronted a bunch of hungry wolves in the forest. But none of it adds dimentions to her character in my opinion. Pocahontas at least has legitimate flaws and makes mistakes that eventually backfire and have real (and bad) consequences rather than the movie being built on how supposedly flawfree she is and how she can do no wrong because she is supposed to be everyone's moral compass like in Belle's case.

Almost everyone thinks the classic DPs have plain personalities anyways, kind of like they are supposed to.
