So let me get this straight. Damon is okay with dopple knock out and lying in a casket but he can not urso the thought of seeing Bonnie in a casket so much that he is going to desiccate himself so he does not have to watch her die because of him. Selfish Damon is sacrificing himself through desiccation so that Bonnie does not get hurt because of him as well as avoid inmeasurable pain of losing her and not having her in his life. I was kinda peeved when we first learned he'd done that because I was like "what the hell? How could he just leave his best friend, never to see her again?"
