Is he stepping back.If he is that means he's really angry so DO NOT APROACH THE DOG!If hes not put your hand in a fist and slowly mover it to the cachorros face, let him sniff you.If he growls or steps back dont pat him.
If he remains calm pat his back only.Remember he can smell fear.And if your sad the dog might think your angry.So remain calm or happy.If the smells exictement he'll jump on you or lick you,and yes hes not attacking you.
