Later on that night, Spencer had yet another nightmare. This one was his most horrible yet. He was in yet another "world" and in a ghostly form yet again. The nightmare was all about Maeve. Spencer couldn't believe what he saw. "MAEVE!" he said in glee as he walked up to her. But Maeve appeared to be angry. "Maeve, I don't understand... What's the matter?" he asked. "What the matter? I'LL tell what's the matter-YOU!" she answered in anger with cracks in her voice.
"W-what are you saying?" Spencer asked confused and clueless. "I'm saying YOU are a liar!" Maeve answered. Spencer went blank. "W-w-what do you mean?" he asked. "You chose Diane over ME." Maeve answered. Spencer's eyes got big. "I had to Maeve!" he replied. "Why?" Maeve asked on the verge of tears. "Because I loved only YOU." Spencer answered. "Sure." Maeve replied sarcastically.
Spencer began to get angry himself. "Maeve, I did that to SAVE YOUR LIFE!" he yelled. "You could've let her kill you!" Maeve shouted. "Can't you see I wanted BOTH OF US out of there ALIVE?" Spencer asked with the anger sparking in his voice. "No. You wanted to save Diane's bunda too!" Maeve answered. "I wanted there to be PEACE!" Spencer nearly shouted at the topo, início of his lungs.
"Then why did you let her kiss you?" Maeve asked. "I..." Spencer stopped short. "Exactly." Maeve said. "Why did you comply with what she told you to say?" she asked again. "I HAD to..." Spencer answered on the verge of tears himself. Suddenly, out of thin air, Maeve tearfully vanished. Spencer dropped to his knees crying and suddenly...The "real" Spencer awoke.
*The devil must really like torturing me!* he thought in anger. He then realized the lamp was still on. He looked over and saw Derek holding his head in his hand. "What's up?" he asked concerned. "Headache." Derek answered. Derek had been suffering from that migraine-like sinus headache ever since a storm system had moved through Chattanooga. "I think I brought some aspirin with me; Let me look." Spencer replied as he went to his medical bag.
"I already took some medicine for it, but it didn't seem to help." Derek stated. "That kind probably didn't work properly." Spencer replied. Derek lied back down in pain. "Ah, hear we go." Spencer said as he saw the aspirin. He set the aspirin down, went and got some water, and brought the stuff to Derek. "Aspirin should do the trick." he stated. Derek sat up and took the aspirin. "Thank you Reid." he thanked. "No problem." Spencer replied. He thought about the nightmare he had just had.
"You alright?" Derek asked concerned. "No." Spencer answered. He then told Derek about this recent nightmare. "She understood that. And she'd still understand if she were still here today." Derek said. "In my nightmare she didn't." Spencer snubbed. "Come on man. Don't play yourself. It was just a dream." Derek comforted. Spencer immediately saw closure in the ordeal and looked into his friends' eyes. "Thanks." he thanked. "No prob." Derek replied. He suddenly put his hand on his head. "You might want to put a travesseiro over your head." Spencer advised. Derek did just that. The boys went back to sleep and slept soundly throughout the rest of the night.
