Just beacuse they are not Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Snow-White, Tiana, Mulan, and Rapunzel doesn't mean that they're not Disney's creations!

@abbygrace: Being Disney doesn´t necessarily mean they have to get the title of princesses. The official DP are Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel and Merida. It might be because they´re more popular or their movies were high grossing so their products sell better. However, the other girls like Esmeralda, Megara, Jane have the title of Disney Heroines. And it´s not because they deserve it or not, it´s because of what I already explained.

Not all of them are royalty, you know...

If the movie characters weren't successful, Disney didn't put them in the lineup.

If the movie characters were already extremely successful without being in the lineup, Disney decided that they would OVERWHELM the existing characters should they be put in the lineup. I definitely agree with Disney's tactic, here.

If these characters can exist/do well, be loved by fans, without being in the lineup, then they don't need to be in the DP lineup.

I personally think that with addition of Mulan it was unfair to the other princess, but I don't really mind that some are princesses and some aren't, that's just what they decided to do, I'm just saying that the line doesn't make much sense. The guidelines are basically: be a profitable heroine.

'princess' isn't the most important thing a disney female character can be.
