With a heavy coração I watched the gloomy dia in Forks Washington fly por in a blur of green through the window of my uncle's police cruiser. My uncle is Charlie Swan, chief of police, here in Forks. I made the decision to mover up here after unfortunate events in California occurred and for my sanity, literally, I needed to mover away.
"So Em, it's been a long time since I last saw you."
"I know Uncle Charlie, I'm sorry I haven't come up sooner."
"All that matters is that you're here now." He said as we got out of the cruzador and I was nearly knocked over por my little cousin, Isabella.
"Good god Bells! Don't kill me on my first dia in town!" I laughed as she turned a crimson shade. It wasn't until the I noticed the bronze haired boy on the sofá watching us curiously.
"Sorry, E." She turned to the boy, "Oh, E, this is my boyfriend Edward Cullen. Edward this is my cousin, Emily Swan-Kent. She just moved here from California."
"Hello, it's nice to meet you, Emily. Bella speaks highly of you."
I painted a smile on my face, "It's nice to meet you as well."
Uncle Charlie excused himself and me saying he wanted me to settle in before I start work tomorrow as a history teacher and Forks High School. I sat on in the rocking chair por the window in the room sino and I share now. Sighing I listened to sino and Uncle Charlie talk downstairs about Edward. I took a deep breath and fought the memories dying to replay themselves.
I stood in front of the casket my hands trembled violently as I placed a gentle kiss the red carnation and placed it with the rest already resting on the pine.
"I amor you, Superman." I whispered and stepped off the short platform.
"Emily!" Bella shook me out of my memory with a start.
"Bella."
"Why are you crying?"
"It's not something I want to talk about."
"We have a right to know Emily." Uncle Charlie piped in.
"Please don't make me. It's too soon." I started to hyperventilate slightly and I walked out of the room shaking.
"Emily, you need to talk about it!" They protested.
"I CAN'T!" I shouted with tears in my eyes ad I jogged out the door. Clutching my rings and sprint car on a silver chain as they bounced until I slowed to a walk.
I caught sight of Forks General Hospital not long after I stopped running. My mind was racing as I stopped and fell to my knees leaning against the stop sign and tears fell uncontrollably much to my efforts to stop them.
"Miss?"
I wiped away my tears before lo up at the man. I took in his golden hair and eyes cautiously, I could see that I could trust the man, but that didn't mean I would.
"Yes?"
"Are you well?" His british accent caught me off guard slightly.
"Yes I'm well."
"May I ask why you are sitting here crying?" he offered a hand to help me up.
"I just moved here from California, for reasons that will not be stated, and my Uncle was trying to force me to talk about it."
"I see, I'm Dr. Carlisle Cullen, por the way."
"Emily Kent."
"Chief Swan's niece?" I nodded, "Well if you wish to speak of whatever is upsetting you feel free to call." He handed me his card.
"Thank you Doctor."
"Would you like a ride back to the cisne house?"
I hesitated, "That would be lovely, Dr. Cullen." My head screamed not to go back yet.
"Please call me Carlisle."
