sportyshuie I watch the series for 2 reasons; arwen and merlin. If Merlin is the veins of the show, then Arwen is the heartbeat. Their love drives the show forward, filling it with excitement and anticipation. The previous seasons have been generous with arwen scenes (though i wouldn't really call them fullfiling but compared to season 5, they were better). And that was the problem. We expected too much; because the promise were made such. And now, each day our hopes and expectations are crumbling. And it distorts out interest to carry on hoping. Well, at least it does to me. They are married for pity's sake and why can't we have a decent snogging between those two? If they are going to throw the family show reason as an excuse, i will personally screw their heads. What about the scene between uther and the troll? Was that decent enough for family audience? I think some people are forgetting that the series's success aren't just guaranteed by the relationship between arthur and merlin only. Almost 60% of the success comes from Arwen and they can ask anyone who watches the series and they will tell the same reason; arwen. Without arwen, the show will be like a plant without water. Arwen is the food that feeds the show and yet, they get sidelined in this season. If this is what we will get in the upcoming episodes, i better be prepared for further frustrations and dissapointments. Or better still, watch the previous episodes in DVD and make myself satisfied.

MOPENDRAGON I think we are all confused by the lack of Arwen intimacy in S5, especially now that they are married. The powers that be are definitely effing up with their writing & editing re Arwen this season for sure. But this week's epi 5x07 did have several intimate Arwen moments, but they are somehwhat tainted since we are dealing with "evil" Gwen. But I certainly hope that after Gwen's enchantment is over in 5x09 we get some real Arwen kisses and intimacy.

HumbleQueen Actually the scenes this week were truly the kind of Arwen moments I've been wanting, minus a mouth to mouth kiss. I sincerely think they've been saving the real thing for later rather than earlier. We may not get the same number of kisses but I think we're seeing lots of little affectionate touches that are of a different nature than when they were having a romance with all the problems they had. Now they're a loving married couple and we do see that and it's pretty realistic to what an intimate relationship is like. The thing is, scenes were so scarce the first six episodes so it was like a drought. Now, with this enchantment thing, they're focusing on the relationship again and we're seeing more. I'm discounting the bad twist; I'm viewing their scenes together as real because it reflects what they are normally like. She's acting it out right now, but she's doing what she normally does so that Arthur won't suspect a difference in her. So I feel we're seeing what has been going on all along. Hope I haven't confused you!

buzzy31bee apparently in this weeks episode (The kindness of strangers) there are some Arwen scenes, because they are making up for the apparently "lost time" from when Gwen was evil. I quite literally watch the show because of them, but i cannot deny my love for Merlin. i need more Arwen scenes, not just boring kisses on the foreheads, but actual decent kisses on the lips.

HumbleQueen To be honest, I don't get that statement altogether about lost time, because they were still getting it on while she was enchanted. In fact some of the best one on one moments were from those two episodes. Well, thinking about it further though, for Gwen there was lost time, so yes maybe I understand what they're saying. And there was time when he knew and she didn't know he knew so they haven't had their "normal" relationship NOR have we viewers had it so it would certainly be nice to get a few scenes between now and the end to make up for that.
