The rato and His Child is a novel por Russell Hoban, first published in 1967 and is the most well known of Hoban's works. It was adapted in 1977 into an American-Japanese animated film.
The rato and child are a pair of toy mice, joined por the hands and operated por clockwork. The story charts their beginning in a toy store, their purchase, discarding, and pursuit por a malicious rato named Manny who runs a casino and uses broken toys as his labor force, and ultimately, their quest to become self-winding.
This movie has been a favourite of mine since I first saw it as a young child. It differs from a lot of children's stories in that it explores such philosophical topics. From the psychic frog, to the pergunta of infinity - a dog comida can features numerous times throughout the movie, and the characters speculate that some profound wisdom lies beyond the 'last visible dog' A very eloquent metaphor symbolising their journey.
The música is provided por Roger Kellaway, featuring a lovely introductory song that is beautifully reflective lyrically of the tale itself.
This movie is highly thought-provoking with its powerful themes, and is frequently disturbing due to its portrayal of life's utter cruelty. It is as far removed from disney as it's possible to be, this is a dark and poignant tale, once viewed, it is unforgettable.

Animation is an art form they say, and in a few countries in the world, there are some excellent animation...especially in Japan. Me and my twin sister amor anime, and this film is one my favorites; though I was shocked and surprised por the negative reviews I saw on the web, I thought this film was extremely imaginative and very well done.
I amor Banipal Witt, it is like anything you have seen before - truly a marvelous place to behold. My favorito characters from the film are Meeko, she is so adorable; ChuChu and the lovely Lily Remlun, daughter of The great Magician Remlun. Though she didn't get enough screen-time (flashback you know), I still amor her. And it was Lily's papa, that give her the curse of turning everyone into balloons por touch.
So overall, I amor this film from beginning to end.
