Future Fin fic. Warnings for major F-bombs. Based loosely on a prophecy line.
Rough weeks never end good for heroes. For a normal person you’d have a weekend to relax, watch some televisão or play a video game. But for the protectors of a city, country, planet, there wasn’t much to go início to, or much of a weekend to relax with.
Fin had had one of those weeks where she was just done. But a distress call from a warehouse two blocks down had her setting off in the direction opposite Happy Harbor. The fifteen ano old was starting to wonder if this was actually something she’d be doing for the rest of her life. Wally and Artemis had been talking about quitting the life for good, and she had spent some amount of time thinking on that decision. She could very well just figure out a way to stabilize her powers for good, and quit, but that just seemed wrong. Two years back she’d taken a couple of weeks off from the gig, and even that had seemed like an eternity. But staying Infinity forever just didn’t seem right.
She dropped down in altitude, landing on the balls of her feet near the warehouse’s roof. Her hair whipped out behind her as she began to run towards her destination. I really need a haircut, she thought to herself, but once again the idea was cast aside. Getting off topic was not something you usually did on the job; she’d learned that the hard way.
She dropped down through a window and dashed along the catwalk about the warehouse floor, not making a sound. Adjusting her sunglasses (she was still in civvies) and dropping down into a crouch in one of the mais shaded corners, she watched as Redstream walked across the floor, going to the center. Fin tapped into the power fonte that she loathed, with a passion, and listened in on the conversation Chelsea was having with an unknown figure.
“Really? I thought she would have fixed it por now.”
“No. She’s running wild, and none of the techniques you’ve given me are working. Do you have anything else?”
“Well, I--”
The conversation was cut of as Fin shot straight up and jumped out the window. The glass deflected away from her and she wasn’t cut, but she could still feel the pain. It was physical and emotional. That voice had been recognizable from the first word-- Bruce. Bruce was working with Chelsea. She didn’t care why or how, but she knew something had been up when all of a sudden he was able to say a simple word and she would calm herself. Heat began to spread up from her fingertips and she broke into a sprint. She wasn’t crying... nope. Definitely not crying.

She stormed into the cave, basically angered to the point of lost control, but she hadn’t changed yet. Dick tried to talk to her, so did Aisling, Danna, and Eric, but she said nothing, not a word.
She simply stood in the middle of the room waiting for--

There he was.
The Dark Knight came in, about to say something, but was interrupted. “What in the fucking hell is wrong with you?!” Fin screeched.
“Infinity--”
“Don’t! Don’t you dare ‘Infinity’ me! You’ve been working with her!”
“I--”
“There is no good reason to get you out of this Bruce! No exceptions! You asked Chelsea for help with something! You know what she’s done to me! And yet you deliberately asked her for help! Not only that, but the kind of fucking help to get me under control! So you could use me easier!”
“Kyra--”
“I’m nothing but a tool to you Bruce-- this whole fucking team is just a fucking tool! You use us to do your dirty work! Roy was right, we’re nothing to you! I’m nothing to you! And don’t you even fucking dare try to calm me down right now because it is not going to work. Okay?! God, I’m just.. damnit Bruce! I can’t do this! Not with you! I’m always going to be stuck beneath you, always going to be stuck doing your stupid work as a stupid fucking tool! So guess what?! You can go to fucking hell! All of you!” she screamed, whirling on the members of the team there, who weren’t many, but they were shocked enough. “If you can’t deal with that, I don’t care. I’m breaking off communication. Because you know what? I fucking quit!”
She threw her glasses off with such force one of the lenses shattered, and her eyes were a blazing gold. “Fuck you all.”
She stormed towards the zeta tubes and stood in the beam of light.
Recognized: Infinity--
“Override B13. Change name to Phoenix,” she growled out. And with that, she was gone.
