Vampire Diaries Stars Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham "Hated Each Other" At First 

Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) and Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) are best friends on and off screen, but it hasn’t always been that way. Much like their on-screen counterparts, the two weren’t BFFs when they first met. Apparently, they didn’t like one another at all. Check out Kat’s confession on the subject.

"Ian and I used to not like each other at all. We hated each other first season," Kat told AOL. "Now he\'s my best friend in the cast. He\'s the person I can say in 30 years will be one of my closest friends."

OK, excuse us while we get something out of our eye. That is very sweet. It’s also a testament to how long this cast has been together and how much they’ve been through. Elaborating on their early relationship, Kat said: "We wanted to kill each other, but I was a kid and we were both very strong people. I was still finding myself, and throughout the years, he\'s helped me find myself and is now one of my greatest inspirations." And we thought the photos of Kat tagging along on Ian’s date with girlfriend Nikki Reed was adorable!

Kat wasn’t just dropping lovely comments about Ian, she also had this to say about co-star Michael Trevino (Tyler): "One person I\'ve actually known for 10 years is Michael Trevino, and he\'s someone I wish after six seasons I had more time with. But it\'s also how they\'re writing. If I\'m doing more scenes with one person, I might be closer with them."
