Discord soldiers! This pergunta is for YOU

So, as you can see, the communication in discord is much much faster than fanpop. It's kinda the same for other instant chat systems. So, the first difference that I can deduce is that replying to messages or mural posts takes a bit mais time than discord, but not that much time difference. At best , it takes one extra minute. But, we seem to delay the replies here . For some unknown reasons we don't feel like replying . So, What I want to know -

1)comparison between fanpop and discord
2) what are those unknown reasons that prevents us from replying immediately and delay the responses mais and mais

Actually the communication with mural posts is that it doesn't update in real time without response. So if you read a mural post, it will appear like that forever until you reload, comment, or go somewhere else. Discord on the other hand, as long as you're connected to the internet, it will update for you with the latest comment.

Personally, I don't always stick to wallposts and keep a hawkeye on updates. Discord on the other hand, I have it on my desktop and on my phone. I'm currently in many servers, I'm honestly not too sure how many. I am active in a few of them. I use a lot of the servers as news atualizações and stuff like that. I run my own servers too. fanpop tho, there's not many atualizações or activities. There is no reason for me to check in multiple times a day. The only fórum site I am active in is Gamefaqs, which I also am not the most active person. I check in maybe once everyday, maybe more. Same as Fanpop. fanpop as others have said, is mais like a forum. However, unlike Gamefaqs, most people here will be the same people I always see.

Tbh I'm literally just lazy with messages. Like across all websites. I am consistently horrible at getting back to people. There are like 5 different people in my caixa de entrada right now and I have a fanfiction that needs typing, animê that needs watch and música that needs listening, and sometimes real life calls. And then por the time I finish that it's cama time. Whoops.

btw, Zanny. You could at least visit the discord once. It's not like you are obligated to reply all. Just stay logged in with an open discord tab. You can just observe .if you feel like avoiding the message notifications, then you can just mute the chat. Give it a shot. Just for 10 mins

I'm still trying to learn Discord. I like both.

Why I like Discord? Username change.

Why I like Fanpop? The peeps I have here :)

Other than that, like I said, I like both.

I enjoy both for different purposes. Chat is mais chill and less effort compared to coming on Fanpop. My phone sucks with fanpop and I very very rarely use my laptop since it's a broken mess and is still around to type up cover letters.

Discord is just a bit quicker as it's a chat service, fanpop is still great and all but the format makes communication a lil slower.

Honestly, at first I was really wondering myself but thinking mais about it and seeing some of the respostas before me, it makes sense honestly. I mean, Discord is just being used as a chatting system. Kinda like the one fanpop itself used to have. A bonus feature for Fanpoppers. The Website in here is a lot mais than that. In the former, you talk in real time and there's no need to give extensive replies. It's just chill conversation between people you are familiar for the most part. fanpop is mais laidback in its responses because of its immense size. When you are being sent a Message, you know that there is no need to rush. You can take your time writing, editing and then sending it. There are a lot of activities, conversations with other Members, things to do irl, etc. So, a bit of delaying is only to be expected por both parties in many cases. You know that the conversation won't be gone. It is still hanging in there and you'll get back to it at some point so you take it easy. Add the fact that various Members are prone to Procrastination or even Mood Swings (including me for both) in general and there you have it !!!!
