Former partner Jessica Craig to get married on the Lewa wildlife reserve where William and Kate got engaged
The Duke of Cambridge will spend Easter in Kenya attending the wedding of his former girlfriend Jessica Craig while the Duchess of Cambridge stays at home with their children.
Kensington Palace announced that the Duke would be making a “private” four-day visit to Africa, saying he would be spending time on the wildlife reserve where he got engaged, as well as having a brief official meeting with Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The official announcement of the trip made no mention of the fact that “Jecca” Craig, who was the Duke’s girlfriend when they were teenagers, is getting married on Saturday and that the Duke will be there.

Miss Craig, 34, will marry conservationist Professor Jonathan Baillie on the Lewa wildlife reserve run by her father Ian Craig.
The Duke has remained so close to the Craig family that when Jecca’s brother got married in 2008 the Duke went to that wedding rather than that of his cousin Peter Phillips on the same day.
It was also during a holiday on the Lewa reserve that the Duke proposed to the then Kate Middleton in 2010.
When the Duke arrives on Thursday he will call on the president at the request of the Foreign Office to “deepen relations between the two countries on a broad range of topics including defence and security, and conservation".

Although he has added the presidential meeting to his itinerary, the Duke will pay for his flights himself.
The Duke, who is President of United For Wildlife, will spend the rest of the day seeing first-hand some of the longstanding conservation and anti-poaching initiatives taking place in Kenya, which are supported by Tusk Trust, a charity of which he is Royal Patron.
He will watch vets in the field fitting radio tracking collars to elephants to help with research and conservation.
At the Lewa Conservancy he will also spend time with rangers to learn about their work protecting one of Africa\'s significant rhino populations from poaching.
