That evening, the blonde tried in her best power to forget about the weather outside. She closed her blue, peixe adorned window curtains and placed herself in her hobby/work room. She liked it in there, as it made her feel comfy and cozy. It was like her storm shelter. It made her feel seguro during the creepy and unpredictable weather.
The walls in the room were covered with paintings and sketches of her favorito animal, dolphins. All of them were made from her own creation, and she was proud. Marine life in general made her smile. That's why she chose to study marine biology. She was very successful in her field and always had tons of work. But she was okay with that. She liked work
"Let me see here..." She threw on her glasses and looked at the paperwork before her. "Observations of golfinho echolocation..." She immediately took out her pen and wrote all she knew. As she wrote, she sighed contently. This was the perfect way to wade through a storm. Doing her work on dolphins and, if she finished before it got too late, she'd start another picture of the marine mammal to hang on the wall. But this ideal evening became impossible when the lights went out.
He was a functioning drunk. His eyes were rimmed red around his sky blue irises. He drove over the George Washington Bridge, set on a location. He usually disapproved of drunk drivers, but that evening, he was determined to get where he needed to go.
Kowalski just couldn't take it anymore. He wasn't happy. He hadn't been happy since she left him. She didn't care when he had groveled on his knees for her to come back to him. She said no. Oh, Doris... Why didn't she care?
"Crap," Doris said as she looked around. She could see the shadows of the wild raindrops falling behind her curtains. She inhaled a deep breath. She felt her way towards the door when thunder clapped. She jumped and all the air flew out of her lungs. "Damn thunderstorms..." She muttered as she caught her breath. She opened her escrivaninha, mesa and tried to feel around for her flashlight. "Found it!" She clasped gratefully at the black flashlight and clicked it on. The white light shot out and Doris grinned. She stood up, ready to leave the room when the flashlight died on her. She swore under her breath and threw it. She REALLY didn't like storms.
"You are my sunshine..." Kowalski drunkingly sung as he drove down the quiet New Jersey street.
If he was sober, he would've been surprised he made it so far without being pulled over for DUI. But, of course, he didn't care in his intoxicated state.
"My only sunshine..." He felt a tear run down his face. He wiped away at it furiously and stopped singing.
"Though that is impossible since she isn't a mass of gas..." He looked around at the house numbers.
"Eureka!" He steeped on the brake suddenly when he found the right one. He stepped out of the car and stood in the rain a bit.
"You make me happy when skies are grey..." He stuffed the car keys into his camisa pocket and slowly lumbered towards the house.
"You'll never know dear how much I amor you..." He wandered to the back, where he knew he'd be able to get in quicker.
"So please don't take my sunshine away..." He pulled the door open and walked inside. He was going to get his sunshine, one way or the other.
