AFTER scooping the award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress at the People\'s Choice Awards 2016, we look at why Caitriona should win big at the Golden Globes.

The Irish beauty, who plays Claire Fraser in Outlander scooped the award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress at the People\'s Choice Awards 2016.

The actress beat off competition from from Emilia Clarke, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison and Lady Gaga to scoop the prize.

And the star could be set to crown the week with a Golden Globe Award - with Caitriona up for best drama actress at the illustrious ceremony.

Outlander is also among the nominees for Best Drama series while Tobias Menzies has been shortlisted for best supporting actor.

The star\'s on-screen chemistry with Sam Heughan\'s character Jamie Fraser got audiences instantly hooked, with her stellar performances leading to her People\'s Choice Award win.

Caitriona also received a nomination for the Actress Drama Series category at the Women\'s Image Network Awards 2015, with the awards to be held on Wednesday 10, February 2016.

And her devoted army of fans also voted in their numbers as Caitriona was named E! Online\'s Girls on Top 2015 , beating 63 other challengers to claim the title of TV\'s top woman.

Living up to her \'big hearted\' reputation, the actress expressed her thanks to Outlander fans\' for helping secure her win by donating to three charities in their name - World Child Cancer, Unicef and Red Cross International.

Adding to the show\'s overall success at the Entertainment Weekly\'s EWwy Awards 2015 , Caitriona picked up the Best Actress in a drama series award with a stunning 81.8 per cent of the votes.
