Katy Perry dissed por Linda Perry, a rocker with the same last name!

Linda Perry is the legendary 4 Non Blondes rocker turned hit songwriter for Pink, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and countless other young pop stars. She says Katy Perry's songs are no good.

"I'm not saying Katy is bad," she said. "She's great for what she does. But she's not reinventing the wheel, she's not giving substance. She's just giving, you know, microwave pipoca for you to feast on right at this moment. You know, that's it. And that's what she wants to do obviously. She's not looking to change the world musically, she's not. So all the power to her and everybody that is like that. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying, it's not what I participate in. But that is part of the reason why the música business is in turmoil, so to say."

What does Katy have to say about all this? Katy said on Twitter: "Good sherlock holmes listeners know there's LOTS of interesting info in them songs!!!"

KateKicksAss I bet she's just jealous of Katy's fame, I mean, Katy has tons of fans and is really popular, and I've never even heard of Linda Perry. Seriously, she probably just wants the attention, *eyeroll*

TBH, I kinda agree. (I'll say this, don't hate me because I'm a Katycat myself). Sure Katy tied Michael's record for most #1's on a single album but really, she isn't doing anything revolutionary. She's just the, you know, typical pop superstar. "You know, that's it. And that's what she wants to do obviously. She's not looking to change the world musically, she's not." I'm not pretty sure about that though. Katy is indeed passionate about her work so I don't really know if that's what she only wants to bring. But yeah, from the looks of it currently, Katy isn't really giving much of a different & phenomenal substance except for the most #1's record (not to mention TGIF went to #1 because of the little 'remix' strategy people have been doing lately to increase sales & airplay) Again, I'm not hating. I'm just stating my own opinion but regardless of that, I'm still a Katycat.

KateKicksAss ^What remix strategy? And right, like this Linda Perry lady is changing the world musically. Seriously, I don't think anyone CAN change the world with music. Most singers probably just do it because they love it. And she thinks Katy has nothing to offer the music industry? Try Justin Bieber or half the Disney stars who are only famous because Disney wanted to make a quick buck And I think Katy has a lot to offer. Sure, Teenage Dream was a more mainstream record, but she does write a lot of meaningful stuff.... And at least she writes her own songs, unlike A LOT of artists. And the article said Linda Perry writes songs for other people, so isn't she CONTRIBUTING to the downfall of the music industry by contributing to those artists who buy all their music and don't do anything meaningful they've written? She's really one to talk.

KatyMae To be honest, Katy Perry has changed my life. Since hearing her music, my life has completely fallen into place. I believe you can change the world with music, but you need to find your own song, what music inspires you to be your best. For me Katy Perry is my inspiration, I can't wait to see her again on the 26th it'll be another amazing concert I am sure (:
