Episode 5: Responses

Monitors drone out the sound of soft breathing. It was a steady beeping that bounced knowingly off the think walls. A knock from the door startled a man lying aboard a hospital gurney, causing the beeping to increase mildly. “Carter?” Sleepily, Carter rubbed his eyes with his left hand, leaving the other stretched straight out to his side. Protruding from it, two IV lines ran the length of his forearm and to a single pump, held upon a stainless steel pole, complete with four wheels that ran along its slender frame. The screen read:

RPM: 0.42 mL
193/81(117)mmHg

There were two other lines below, the first of which delved up and down in a wave form along with the rate of the beeping. It was red in color and read the abbreviation, ART, seguinte to this continues strip. Numbers constantly flipped on the read, the first of which, systolic, bouncing in the 180’s, and the second, diastolic, jumping in the 80’s. Below the ART line, another wave form countered. This one was too, continual, but was blue in color and stated the figure, 92% 4L.

“Hey Archie.” His words were elongated slightly. Archie’s eyes were kind and honest as they cut into Carters. “Look….” Morris broke the contact with Carter. “It was…there was…a lot of debris…and smoke…and…and well…” The words didn’t want to escape Archie’s mouth. “They recovered his body…we…” He hesitated again. “We just took Cuddy down there.” Carters expression was blank, he was still staring where he had just moments before been looking at Dr. Morris. segundos passed without a sound and Archie turned in this place to leave. His arm was held aloft. Carter now had a strong grip on his arm and was half reaching out of his bed, still keeping his right arm perfectly straight. “Morris.” Archie turned back around to meet Carters eyes. He could tell they were forming with tears, as were his own. He took Carter’s hand and lowered himself to the bed.

Suddenly, a noise resounded across in the hallway, it was loud and harsh and broke against the two men’s ears. A light just outside the window of the room lit the whole vicinity a bright blue color as a voice spoke above from an intercom.

Code Blue, Morgue. Code Blue, Morgue. Code Blue, Morgue

It was standard for a Code to be repeated three times aloud, and this time was no exception. The microphone gave a final dividido, dividir and the hall was quiet again. Archie was gone before Carter could embrulho, envoltório his mind around what had just happened. His eyes closed against the still flashing blue light, and he let his mind wander.

It was bright in the hot air. White clouds fluttered against deep cyan colored sky, flickering and weaving across the suns rays. Bits of pollen floated across perfectly reflected lake water, just as placid as ever. Gentle waves rolled back and forth against the rock and dirt ruffs on a vegetative filled bank. With each splash, mais allergens took rive, releasing from their poitent hosts and joining the scene above the lake. The smell of barbeque joined forces with the pollen, floating and dancing through the air with ease and spontaneity. Bubbles could be seen sneaking up through the water, wanting the break the surface and enjoy the potent array of flavors. Laughs and giggles rang the smoke around the clearing. Shots of water flew from a neon yellow squirt gun onto an unsuspecting figure. Another laugh sounded. “Greg!” Her voice cracked as she struggled to speak through her smile. “Greggg.” She gave a pathetic scream. Her dark hair was pulled back into a pónei, pônei tail along the base of her neck. The embrulho, envoltório was black in color and had stretched quite nicely around the auburn hair. Strands fell and shaped her face, from her forehead and down along her cheeks. Her eyes hid under a pair of white framed sunglasses, eyeing her assailant. Her tanned skin sparkled against the sunlight, soaking into her bare back, stomach and neck. She had on the topo, início of a two piece swim suit. It was brown, had light crème colored flowers, and shaped her chest well. Falling along the lines of her figure, the elastic formed in a circle, entrapping her sternum. The back was tied neatly against her shoulder blades and the hairline of her neck. In contrast, her blue jean capris cast odd shadows against the topical setting. They were frayed at the end and slightly rolled along her calves. She ran, still laughing, letting her bare feet beat the cool daytime grass. Water bounced against her body, soaking into the deep jean material of her pants. The man had caught up to her, himself running his feet against the shades of green. He had managed to embrulho, envoltório his arms around her waist. They swayed in place as he led his lips to her neck, tracing her smooth skin. She shivered.

His arms were strong under the beating of her heart. His fingers circled her belly button and ran along her hips, turning them toward his own. He had on a set of khakis, complete with cargo pockets that lay open and obtuse along each side of his thighs. A Hawaiian themed camisa sat unbuttoned against the tone of his muscles. The open shirt, normally flapping wildly in the wind rested, pressed tightly against the woman’s back.

Only milliseconds passed around the pair. Stacy broke his grip on her body and jumped to the ground, aiming for the water gun. He tuned, ready to dart away as she rose, pulling the trigger. Water squirted out and onto his back, letting his camisa stick slightly against his skin. He ran with all of his energy towards a clearing, Stacy followed, spraying him the whole way. “Alright guys, come‘on.” A mans voice stopped the two from running. “Foods ready.” Wilson smiled at the duo. Stacy had caught up to House, and, putting her arm around him, panted. House cocked his eyes and his gaze found the bright yellow water gun still squeezed in Stacy’s hand. “Carter, hey.” House whispered as he grabbed the gun and tossed it across a green picnic table. Carter caught it and turned it toward Stacy, pulling the trigger. She reacted instantly, moving her head. “HA! Looks like your aim needs some work, John.” At this statement, House winked toward Carter, gesturing him for another attack. Carter followed the request. This time, the water hit Stacy square in the face, forming droplets on her glasses. She sighed and walked away, leaving the two friends high fiving each other across the table.

Opening up to a flashing blue light, Carter searched the hallway. Nothing. This was an abnormal occurrence for a Code Blue. Usually, chaos would ensue time, moving wreckage of gauze and IV lines across the floor, but the hall was quiet, and clean.

“Morgue. A Code in the Morgue. Now there was a concept,” Thought Carter. He lowered his head back against the uncomfortable hospital travesseiro and shut his eyes. A segundo later, yells and cries of crashing doors forced his eyes back open. The hall now contained hording people, centrally located around a moving gurney. Carter’s mind rushed with thoughts and indecisiveness, but his straightened right arm had begun to ache and burn. A segundo later, unable to fight the urge, Carter closed his eyes, and his mind, leaving the blue flashing light to vanish, replaced por complete darkness.

The hours passed without knowledge. Outside, the sky had darkened and the sound of creaking windows noted a looming storm. A distant voice sounded, floating through the air, getting louder with every passing second. “…ouse…” “…house…HOUSE”

A pair of deep blue eyes opened to a familiar hospital room. He turned his head slowly, blinking again and again, trying to focus the blurred vision before him. A man lay opposite him on another gurney, his right arm outstretched with IV’s running from them. House smiled.

“Carter.”

Finally, I finished this! So yeah, this is my entry for the Ship mês fã fiction contest. You may be a bit annoyed por my writing, but that's the way I like to write. Oh, and although I used "Word", there can be some stupid grammar mistakes, so I'm really sorry. And please, even though it's femslash (and some may not like it) I hope you'll read it and enjoy it.

Just one Hug – Cadley Fic.

Allison was still asleep when the rain started to drop from the sky, hitting the windows of the apartment in steady little drops. She wasn't aware of what was happening around her, wasn't aware of the fact...

Here is my entry for the Ship mês fã Fiction Contest. Never done a Foreteen fanfic before, so urso with me on this one because I haven't had any practice at composição literária these characters and I don't write serious fã fiction. If this turns out to be an unholy disaster, please don't point and laugh!

Foreman & Thirteen in 'Boombox'

Foreman opened his car door and struggled to pull the giant boombox out from the back seat. It was heavy and awkward to carry, but eventually Foreman managed to lift the device out of the car and carry it to the middle of the courtyard outside Thirteen's apartment...

DIE LUCAS, YOU'RE A TOTAL LOSER, I DON'T KNOW WHAT CUDDY SEES IN YOU, SHE'S MEANT FOR HOUSE!

Okay, I get it, so could you stop?
Funny scene in visualização od "9 to 5" really made my day, because it was... well, funny, and didn't matter, that I amor Luddy. But then I came back to spot to write about it and I read all these mean comments about Lucas and House.
Okay, Huddy is an OTP, we get it! Not only from you, but from producers also.
Why can't I say anything bad about 13 (like right here: link) and no one has any problems with all people around bashing Lucas ONLY for being not House in relationship...

“Mistake”-Moby
I feel like I’ve lost mais than the amor of my life. I feel like my best friend has disappeared. I know I always only give Wilson that title, but the truth is that she is on the same level of loyalty within my mind. I wish I had the courage to tell her this small fact…She would never believe me anyway. She never has believed me when I am being genuine. I deserve some of that ridicule and mistrust, but not all of it. I did bring her that med-school desk, showed up at that horrible 80’s dance to impress her with my determination, and told her she made me feel funny.

NOT MINE.

In the unlikely event that anyone on this spot cares enough about Wilson to read this :P , here's an extract from the link "Difficult Characters" written por Doris Egan (one of the writers of House MD), in which she writes a few things about Wilson's character. The complete artigo also includes analysis of characters from different stories she has written.

In a novel, it would be easy to lay out [a character's] thoughts. In a visual medium, the viewer has to do the work themselves, and here's the problem: we're used to there only being one answer.

Take Wilson, a complex character on...
