SNSD have once again re-written girl group history, this time breaking their own record and setting a new one por being the first girl group to exceed 200,000 in album sales.
On November 10, Gaon Chart, which is a certified música chart, announced that SNSD’s 3rd full album “The Boys” sold 227,994 albums in the mês of October. What is even mais surprising is the fact that because this album was released on October 19, it means that over 200,000 albums was sold within two weeks.
Gaon Chart explained, “The number of albums sold for SNSD’s recent album is the highest record yet for a girl group. If we look at the no geral, global ranking in album sales throughout the ano across all artists, SNSD comes in third place after Super Junior and DBSK.” They also mentioned, “SNSD’s past two album, 2nd full album “OH!” and 3rd mini-album “Hoot”, holds album sales records of 197,934 and 163,066 respectively.”
They also added, “Over the past year, with the increase of the K-Pop boom, the no geral, global album sales of Korean idols have increased dramatically. Before the K-Pop boom struck, most albums were sold through fãs living in Korea. But now international fãs have started ordering albums through Korean record stores online.”
For the mês of October, after SNSD on the album chart was Kim Hyun Joong in segundo place with his 2nd mini-album “Lucky”, selling 94,784 copies. In third place was international super stars JYJ, who have recently successfully finished their first solo show, concerto in Spain and Germany, selling 81,867 copies of their album “In Heaven”.
Gaon Chart’s album sales is calculated por subtracting the wholesale quantities (the number of albums sold) from the total amount in the corresponding warehouses of each record label, then the final value is calculated por aggregating the figures.

Get yourselves pumped for Girls' Generation's 4th solo concert!
'GIRLS' GENERATION 4th TOUR – Phantasia – in SEOUL' will take place on November 21 and 22 at Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Stadium.
Their 4th show, concerto is well overdue, as their last one was nearly two and a half years atrás in 2013. Famous choreographer Rino Nakasone, who is known to have worked with Britney Spears and Chris Brown, will be in charge of the concert's choreography.
Their latest album 'Lion Heart' was a total hit, and we're sure fãs are mais than excited to see performances of all the songs in this album and mais at the Phantasia concert.
Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun are dropping a new track on the first week of December, according to Nov. 2 reports, writes AllKpop.
Girls Generation has been very active in música this year. The topo, início girl group released "Catch Me If You Can" in Japão early this year, before releasing "Party," "Lion Heart" and "You Think" in Korea. Taeyeon also debuted solo with "I" last mês and is still actively promoting.

The singer and actress updated her fãs from Taiwan on Sunday, November 1st with a selfie with a crowd gathered outside the window as her backdrop. Yoona witnessed and felt the overwhelming support of Taiwanese fãs as they gathered on the streets and sidewalks trying to catch a glimpse of the idol.
