which season was the original ending?

I remeber when friends was ending that a lot of people were asking if it was really ending because they had already said they were and then brought it back and so I wondering which season they were originally ending it on if that makes my pergunta any clearer?

Debs, at first, Season 9 was meant to be the final season of Friends. At the last minuto NBC renewed it for a 10th season saying they were not ready to say goodbye to the show yet. This was one reason why this season only has 18 episodes. The producers commented about it on season 10 audio commentary (I just don't remember which episode, I think it's 10X01); they said it was supposed to end on season 9, but an opportunity came up and they decided to run for another season. Well debs, I heard on a commentary on an episode that Season 8 was supposedly the last season but halfway through, NBC told them to continue. I'm not entirely sure if that also happened in season 9 but I'm sure it happened season 8.

ik they were so cute together and now that they have Emma...maybe its possible they could get together again
