She lives in the coast of denmark when she is mermaid. when she is human, she lives on land at the coast of denmark. So, she is danish.

Where are you getting this info from? Nothing tells me she is in Denmark waters or land. People keep saying this but providing no evidence. I suggested Greek, and backed up my theory with evidence; she is the daughter of Triton.
Although it happens in a (probably unusual) warm moment and there are animais not common to be found in Denmark. It happens because it's a disney movie. It's not supposed to be accurate. Some people claim it's Croatian, Italian, Greek, Caribbean (or other places according to their desire) but it was supposed to be in Denmark. Recently some fãs questioned disney about Ariel being black claiming she couldn't be black because she was Danish . disney officially replied to that por saying "there are black people in Denmark and after all she is a mermaid, so she can be any race"
Nevertheless the movie happens in a fictional place and it's a product of fantasy. You can imagine whatever you like since it's not told in the story where it's happening. But the closest oficial answer at the moment is Denmark even if it doesn't seem to be accurate (and it doesn't need to be. mulan and Beauty and the Beast are far from being accurate when it comes to China and France)
Actually Ariel she's Greek. Since Ariel in The Little Mermaid is Triton's daughter and according to Greek mythology Triton is the son of Poseidon, this makes Ariel the granddaughter of Poseidon. Athena was the wife of King Triton and the mother of Ariel. sereias are mythological creatures, appearing in folklore across the globe for thousands of years. One of the oldest and most well-known myths comes from Ancient Greece. According to lore, she is one of the dozens of daughters of the sea-god Triton. 510-500 B.C.
I can see why people would make the assumption that Ariel is danish, because the little mermaid is based on the original story por Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.
Disney's Little Mermaid takes place in the Mediterranean Sea Why? Because of the songs and the place, there's palms and Eric's castelo structure looks Spanish/Italian.
