I found myself watching CBN, (Christian Broadcasting Network) because... Well, I just was. And at first, I wrinkled my nose at it, but the remote was too far away, so I watched it.

Surprisingly, I was impressed, specifically por the author of "UnChristian."

I've always tried to differentiate between the true Christian and the "true Christian," or rather, those who follow Christ's teachings, and those who claim to follow Christ's teachings. But this guy, this author, says he interviewed my generation and found that most of them-- Christian and non-Christian alike-- had six major negative ideas of Christianity.

Those six ideas are ideas I have said, and heard said, about Christians, everywhere, including this site. And that is that Christians are proselytizers, hypocritical, judgmental, too political, anti-homosexual, and pretentious. They claimed that cristianismo is no longer as jesus intended.

They talked about how cristianismo has become "famous for what we're against rather than what we're for." And mais interestingly, they took all of the blame, saying that "We've brought this upon ourselves" for putting out the wrong messages.

So it got me thinking, about these people on the TV. At first, I had that view of them when they first came on. They spoke about how my generation was less likely to go to church, despite a growing interest in spirituality in general. They urged a need to reconnect with my generation, and bring them back into cristianismo (which came off to me as the proselytizing thing).

At the same time, I understand why Christians want others to share their faith. First of all, I like to explain my views to others, in hopes they'll agree, or at least understand what I stand for. segundo of all, Christians get a lot out of their religion, and it's a safe, generally positive place for them and they want to share that with others. Thirdly, there's that whole heaven and hell thing. So I understand that.

What Christians don't always understand is why someone would deny the light of jesus Christ like they have experienced. What they don't understand is that everyone experiences religion, God, Jesus, Allah in a different way. Maybe they have found God, but a different God than you have found. Inevitably, what they need to realize is that religion is a personal journey. After all, jesus reveals himself to everyone in time, right? Though I'm not Christian, I think a form of this is true. I believe that good people will find something in life that inspires them. Whether it's Jesus, Allah, Music, or Biology, it doesn't matter.

Secularists and Non-Christians need to understand that Christians don't mean any harm when they share their religion. They don't mean to imply that their beliefs are somehow better than secularist beliefs. What they mean is that cristianismo felt right for them, and maybe, if others learned what it was really about, maybe it's right for others. Maybe not.

I recognize that when I meet Christians, I become reserved. But I know that if they're really good people, regardless of how religious they are, they will amor me regardless of whether we disagree or not.

I found this in my notes for my English class... I figured I'd share them with you here.

In Classical times, heterosexuality, or the amor of a man for a woman, was considered to be "an animalistic urge to be slaked quickly only for the purpose of reproduction" (Henry Staten, English 202 instructor) while "platonic love" or the amor of a man for another man, was considered idealistic and "above the beasts."

Such close friends were in fact called "lovers," like Hercules and Hylas. To fall in amor with a man was the "proper" thing to do at the time, and signified a wonderous thing.

This "homosociality"...

Okay, if you're a devout Catholic, and are determined to stay that way, look away now. I am an atheist. I believe nothing. But if I were to be anything, I would be a protestant. I say this because from where I am standing, the Roman Catholic church is a con. A way of making money and an attempt to take over the world. If you think about it, Catholics see it as though there are two types of people between them and "God" if that's is the correct term. Firstly, there are Preists. Is it right to think that because you have read the bible and you wear a robe, that you are closer to "God", and above...

I ask this because the word seems to be confusing people.

To me, marriage is the public declaration and legal recognition of amor between two people. When I get married it is so I can commit to my spouse and give myself over to him (?) wholeheartedly. It will be when we are seen por the state as, essentially, one person, with the same assets. It will be when we are seen but the state as family. It will be when I want to celebrate my undying amor for the person I have fallen head over heals for.

It will not be a religious event.

Although, if I was religious, it definitely would be. I'm sure I would...

I've tailored an essay I wrote for a Sustainability class last ano in order to respond to some of the issues that have come up in debate in the last few weeks about vegetarianism. Because this issue is so vast, I've chosen to dividido, dividir the artigo into two parts. The first will focus on human health and the evironment, and the segundo on ethics.

“Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.”

Spiritual Examples

Genesis contains accounts of many characters who tried to follow God. The Bible never glosses over human mistakes nor pretends the godly way is easy. It exposes the wrinkles and flaws of God's people. Of the chief characters in Genesis, Adam is the first sinner, Abraham lies to protect himself, and Jacob is a conniver. Yet God works through their frailty to teach them, and us, about himself. People like Joseph give us sterling examples of how to avoid temptations and concentrate on what really counts in life.

How God Works

God can seem unpredictable from our limited human perspective....
