I found myself watching CBN, (Christian Broadcasting Network) because... Well, I just was. And at first, I wrinkled my nose at it, but the remote was too far away, so I watched it.

Surprisingly, I was impressed, specifically por the author of "UnChristian."

I've always tried to differentiate between the true Christian and the "true Christian," or rather, those who follow Christ's teachings, and those who claim to follow Christ's teachings. But this guy, this author, says he interviewed my generation and found that most of them-- Christian and non-Christian alike-- had six major negative ideas of Christianity.

Those six ideas are ideas I have said, and heard said, about Christians, everywhere, including this site. And that is that Christians are proselytizers, hypocritical, judgmental, too political, anti-homosexual, and pretentious. They claimed that cristianismo is no longer as jesus intended.

They talked about how cristianismo has become "famous for what we're against rather than what we're for." And mais interestingly, they took all of the blame, saying that "We've brought this upon ourselves" for putting out the wrong messages.

So it got me thinking, about these people on the TV. At first, I had that view of them when they first came on. They spoke about how my generation was less likely to go to church, despite a growing interest in spirituality in general. They urged a need to reconnect with my generation, and bring them back into cristianismo (which came off to me as the proselytizing thing).

At the same time, I understand why Christians want others to share their faith. First of all, I like to explain my views to others, in hopes they'll agree, or at least understand what I stand for. segundo of all, Christians get a lot out of their religion, and it's a safe, generally positive place for them and they want to share that with others. Thirdly, there's that whole heaven and hell thing. So I understand that.

What Christians don't always understand is why someone would deny the light of jesus Christ like they have experienced. What they don't understand is that everyone experiences religion, God, Jesus, Allah in a different way. Maybe they have found God, but a different God than you have found. Inevitably, what they need to realize is that religion is a personal journey. After all, jesus reveals himself to everyone in time, right? Though I'm not Christian, I think a form of this is true. I believe that good people will find something in life that inspires them. Whether it's Jesus, Allah, Music, or Biology, it doesn't matter.

Secularists and Non-Christians need to understand that Christians don't mean any harm when they share their religion. They don't mean to imply that their beliefs are somehow better than secularist beliefs. What they mean is that cristianismo felt right for them, and maybe, if others learned what it was really about, maybe it's right for others. Maybe not.

I recognize that when I meet Christians, I become reserved. But I know that if they're really good people, regardless of how religious they are, they will amor me regardless of whether we disagree or not.

Is there a link between capitalism and Christianity, a god of the markets? Some experts think so. There is growing evidence that cristianismo gave birth to the global economy.

Max Weber, the German sociologist, developed the idea that Protestantism is a pillar of the profit system. He introduced the idea that piety and profits can live together. Weber outlined his theory in 1905 with “The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism”.

Calvinism and the Protestant sects, Weber argued, depend on outward signs of salvation. The main ones were diligence, sobriety and success. Thrift was also...

I have never been a fã of president bashing. I don't care who's the president, whether a republican or a democrat, i have never liked it. Yes, it can be funny, but as a whole i think it ruins the unity of America. I think it tears apart our appearance of strength as a nation, and i think our enemies, who ever they may be (im not implying a specific enemy, but american does have its share) see this hatred of our president, and are stronger because of it. A divided country falls, a united country lives on.

I remember EXACTLY where i was September 11 and exactly what happened that day. I was...

There are a lot of things that are in the world today that are right. Wars are going on in the world, Africa is a mostly poor nation, and Global Warming exists. What was that last one, Global Warming exists? Yes, but not to the extent that the United States government and the media want you to believe. Now you’re probably thinking, why would the US government tell such a lie. Why would they get some of the topo, início rated scientists in the world to agree with them, and why are there not mais scientist speaking out about this elaborate hoax. This artigo will explain the reason why Global Warming...

I was going to call them the "Ten Commandments" but felt someone might be offended por that (either a religious person thinking I'm blasphemous or a secularist thinking I'm showing a bias towards religion. Lose, lose, you see). Also, I couldn't come up with ten rules.

So instead, observe the Golden Rules of the debate Spot.

1) RESPECT your fellow debaters. They believe what they do for a reason just like you do. As opposed to simply trying to explain why they're wrong, explain your point of view and LISTEN to theirs. If you find you simply just cannot understand their views, or that they will...

raposa is beating the drums of war with Iran. In 2003, raposa said "Al Qaeda is in Baghdad" and evidence of WMDs was "irrefutable." In 2007, they suggest Iran "is forging ties with Al Qaeda" and the evidence against Iran is "unequivocal."
