This is a serious question: Do you think Yoshi is and always should be Mario's dinosaur transpiration and nothing mais or is he mais than a dino escort through Mario worlds?

One of my friends today said that Yoshi shouldn't be a main Mario character as in, he should only be Mario's sidekick or "noble steed" as she called him (I disagreed with her statement). Yoshi is way mais than Mario's trustworthy dino pal....HE'S A HERO!!! And no one can change that!! Not even my friends who somehow disagree with how Yoshi is!!
