‘Will & Grace’: NBC Revival Order Increased To 12 Episodes
Originally picked up in January for a 10-episode limited installment, the Emmy-winning comedy is getting its order expanded and will return next season with 12 new episodes.
revival quickly has emerged as one NBC’s top assets for next season and is featured front and center in the NBCUniversal’s upfront spots unveiled today, which tout the company’s entire portfolio of networks (you can watch one of the ads below).
— reuniting original stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes  — stems from the surprise election-themed reunion mini-episode released on September 26. Done without NBC’s involvement, it immediately triggered talk of a series revival.
Shepherding the new episodes, which are expected to pick up the characters’ stories a decade after the 2006 finale, are
creators/executive producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan as well as director/executive producer James Burrows.
reunion mini-episode, bringing the cast together and getting the original set re-assembled in the basement of the lot where the NBC series filmed. He and Kohan wrote the script, with additional punch-up work by
Mutchnick also has a multi-camera comedy pilot at NBC,
which aired from 1998-2006 as one of the last tentpoles of NBC’s once-venerable Must-See TV comedy lineup, has a great legacy: In addition to winning 16 Emmys, including best comedy series, it is credited with paving the way for LGBT characters on TV, featuring the first openly gay lead characters on a primetime network series.

WE ALL LOVE IT! Seinfeld, PLEASE! How about a Christmas Special?! Anything would be incredible. The reruns are timeless.
Agree… If by “timeless”, you mean there is no time of day the are not airing somewhere, &/or there is no right time to air these things until you beg for it to stop!
Hahaha you got that right! How about some Frasier for a while instead. Give us a break from Seinfeld
Perhaps we could also order CHANDLER & MONICA about Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry’s respective characters’ married lives and their children living on the Upper West Side.
They moved to Westchester in the finale. But still a great idea.
We would all watch that show. Anything “Friends” and we’re all tuning in!
It lasted FAR longer than it should have as it was, & Cox, LeBlanc, & Perry have all had failures since, while Schwimmer directs & Aniston makes us pay to see her.
So they are getting about 7,200,000 each then for this new season? Hard to say no to that.
CAN’T WAIT! Something to look forward to when there is little to offer that counters the daily crapfest out of Washington.
Couldn’t be happier to have this show back — was the best comedy on television.
They should bring back Minnie Driver’s character, she was fantastic
Bring them all back to other shows full-time (maybe get Sean to appear on his creation, “Celebrity Game Night”, & team Megan with her real husband, “Parks & Rec” star Offerman), & get rid of the ABC ripoff “Relatively Happy”-Endings!
I just need to know how they can continue after the finale in which it was revealed they didn’t speak until their kids were in college.
I could never get enough of this amazing show and the incredible actors!!!!!
I have seriously watched Will and Grace about ten times. I don’t read books more than once, watch movies or any shows more than once. Just Will and Grace!!! Can not wait until the 9th season starts. My 16 year old daughter would like Jack to be her best friend haha. The best show ever!
