Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Just like Simba couldn’t wait to be king, it seems his son is also itching for a shot at greatness.
, which will become its own series in 2016 — Simba’s son Kion must assemble a squad of animal friends with which to protect the Pride Lands. But first, he must sing about it!
TVLine has an exclusive clip from “It Is Time,” the big musical number during which Kion (voiced by
‘s Max Charles) embraces his destiny. Bonus points for any die-hard
fan who can connect this new song’s title with a line from the 1994 original.

Additional voice actors in the film include Rob Lowe (

premieres Sunday at 7/6. Will you be tuning in? Hit PLAY on the preview clip above, then drop a comment with your thoughts below.
Really? Rafiki says it to Simba at the end of the movie when “It is Time” for him to take his rightful place.
He says it twice. The second time is when you said, and the first time is when he realizes that Simba is alive after painting the mane onto the picture of him as a cub.
Nice catch. Forgot about that one!
lol, yeaaaah, I know that movie ENTIRELY too well. That and Mulan are my two favorites that I’ve seen dozens of times.
I’m curious to see if this ignores Lion King II. It would make more sense for this to be Kiara and Kovu’s kid
I believe it’s supposed to take place during the time skip in the second movie.
I could get on board with that. I’m one of those weird people who loved the sequel, so I would love to see Kiara and Kovu show up
It does, indeed, take place during the time jump in the second movie. I’ve already had to console someone over the absence of “sexy” Kovu. Kiara, I believe, will be in it.
So Kiara is older…? My memory is blurred about the Lion King II, I just remember Kiara, Kovu, and one song “El no es del clan”… I just remembered there was a time jump!
I actually really love the sequel also. It’s a little worrisome that ithey’re kind of doing revisionist history on this as Kion would’ve been featured prominently in the sequel of he really existed. But I guess I can forgive it.
yeah but then we are going to start wondering where the heck Kion was during all the commotion after the time jump
Kiara is in this, and it was stated to take place between the first movie and somewhere in the beginning of the second one ( not sure if it’s before or after Kiara meets Kovu). Kiara and Kion are the same age. Although an article refers to Kovu as Kiara’s love interest, they also say Kovu won’t appear in this series (for obvious reasons such as being trained by Zira)
Can’t wait to see this, The Lion King has always been one of my favorite Disney movies.
Yeah if i am not working or out I will be watching live if not I will be watching later.
I didn’t watch The Lion King 2, but I loved the first one (way more than Frozen, btw)! What channel will this air on?
I am soooooo watching this. The fact that I am waaaaaaaaay beyond the target demographic will not stop me.
The first time we hear the line “It is time” comes after Rafki realizes that Simba is still alive after Scar told everyone that he was dead. The second time is at the end of the movie after Simba defeats Scar and Rafki says when Simba gets ready to take his rightful place as king.
The line “It Is Time” comes from the end of the 1994 Lion King movie when Simba takes back the PrideLands from Scar and Rafiki says to Simba “It Is Time”
My niece Milan who us 3 years of age LOVES this cartoon. She watches this show 2/3 times a day. She sings every song. I’m now singing all the songs. I can’t escape it! I’m Lion Guard out. (Lol) Beautiful soundtrack.
