How Do I Have A Kid?

Hi! I'm new to playing the sims and got it two days ago, I have The Sims 3 Ambitions and I really want to have a baby! I went to the Help And About menu and clicked on Babies, it said that you have to married to a sim of the oppisite gender (which I am!) And then I can either WooHoo or call the adoption agency, I clicked on my husband and went to romantic but it didn't have WooHoo and I looked on the phone and it didn't have adoption agency! I despretely want a kid! I always go over to my friends house and play with her kid but it just isn't the same as having one of my own! I really want one! I even on parenting level 4 because I play with her kid so much! I would be a fantastic mother because I treat every kid I see like my own! Please, help me!
