Leonard is wearing a classic vintage robe from Beacon. The Beacon Manufacturing Company was a blanket & robe manufacturing company. They made heavy reprocessed cotton robes until WWII (when they made wool and wool/cotton blends for the war effort) & after the war reverted back to cotton. In the 1950s they began adding rayon/acetate to the cotton.
It looks like Leonard is wearing a 50's-60's robe. That particular robe was also made in blue. By the time the plant closed in 2002, they were making blankets of acrylic, they might have made acrylic robes too but I don't know if they were still making robes then.
Beacon employed over 2000 people, there was a mill village and a company store. The closed factory building burned in 2003.
Beacon robes were very popular in the 50s/60s and most dads had one. They were probably sold at Sears considering how ubiquitous they were. I think they chose that robe to make Leonard look like he was wearing a style a grandfather would wear. Anachronistic. I assume it was just something they found in the wardrobe department.
Unless someone is doing a reproduction, you will have to search for "Beacon robe" for a vintage robe. HTH
